He leads me towards the couches making me sit with him. "I'm listening Serah." I huff. "When I was twelve my parents walked down to Parkway Memorial National Park in Seattle and opened fire on the kids and parents playing there. I remember waking up that day and my brother just put me back to sleep and told me that everything was okay and mom and dad would be back soon. I didn't know the truth until I saw the broadcast on tv when I was fourteen."

"I know that Dylan did it to protect me. And I was glad he did but..." I take a breath. "Everyone blames us. They say we're murderers and that it's all our fault." I let some tears fall down my face. "I was twelve. I didn't even know half the bad things that even existed in this world let alone that my parents could have killed all those people." I cover my face. "And Dylan locked me away in that house. He pulled me from school. I couldn't even eat fast food anymore. He would always go out and come back with groceries."

I start to shake. "And then as if by some miracle he came home and said we were leaving. And at first I was so happy but I grew up there. I didn't want to move halfway across the world. I didn't want to be recognized and I didn't want to find some handsome cowboy who gave me an opportunity to be normal again just for him to find out everything and hate me." He tugs my hands down cupping my face to kiss me. "I don't hate you Serah." I sigh sobbing some more. "Why not?" He brushes my tears away.

"Because the horrible things that your parents did has nothing to do with the kind caring person you are." I huff pressing my lips back to his. "I've been waiting for someone to realize that Jacob." He pulls me into him. "I do Serah." I sit with my head in his chest until I calm down. "Maybe you should get some more sleep Serah. It's really late." I nod softly. "Will you come with me?" He swallows. "I mean..." He stands. "I know what you meant Serah....Sure."

I smile heading upstairs as he follows. I crawl into bed and he crawls in behind me. He turns off the lamp and I sigh before rolling over to lay my head in his chest. "Thank you Jacob." He hums. "Goodnight Serah." I doze of in his embrace.

I toss softly in my sleep and I feel Jacob pull the blankets up over us. "Jacob..." I whisper and he place his hand on my forearm. "I'm here." I smile before dozing back off to sleep. When I wake up the next time the suns peeking through his curtains and I roll tucking my head under his chin. I pull my body closer to his taking in his warmth. I smile feeling him pull the covers up to my neck and run his hand up and down my arm. I hum dozing off to sleep there as well. He presses a small kiss to my forehead I remember before he rubs his thumb over my cheek.

I open my eyes softly. He smiles at me. "Good morning." I smile at how softly he whispers it. "Good morning." I say back. He stares at me for a second and I clear my throat. I roll over facing the window. He keeps his hand on my arm but that's the only place he was touching me. "Serah?" I hum. "Maybe you should check in with Dylan." I huff closing my eyes. "He's gonna make me stay away from you once he knows that you know." He grips my arm pulling me so I'll turn to look at him.

He leans into me pressing his nose to mine. "Then we won't tell him." He says kissing me softly. I pull back a little. "He'll find out anyways." He smiles. "No ones keeping me away from you." I smile too leaning back in to kiss him. I sigh pull back. "You're right I should  call him." He nods softly. "Okay." I sit up grabbing my phone. I dial Dylan's number and he answers on the third ring. "Hey kiddo." I smile.

"Hey Dylan." I hear him sigh. "Are you okay?" I nod then remember he can't see me. "Yeah I'm fine. Jacob has been trying to take care of me. You know me, I'm clumsy." He hums. "Clumsy?" I nod. "Yeah I scrapped my legs and hands up a little helping around here but don't worry Jacob has been great." He sighs. "Serah be careful." I smile laughing some. "I'm fine Dylan." Jacob wraps an arm around my waist softly kissing at the back of my neck. I sigh. "Dylan...I gotta go..." He gets quiet. "Are you okay?"

I hum biting my lip. "Absolutely." He laughs. "Okay Serah talk to you later." I hang up turning my face to his. "What are you doing?" He kisses my check softly. "Oh nothing." I sigh. "You could have gotten us both in trouble." He smiles. "But I didn't." I sigh feeling his lips touch my jaw. "Jacob..." He lifts his face. "Sorry Serah." I kiss him softly. "It's okay." He smiles. "Are you hungry?" I blush lightly and he laughs. "No silly I meant for food." I blush harder. "Oh then yes."

He throws the covers off of himself tapping my arm. "Come on then." I get up following him out of the room and downstairs to the kitchen. He slides his boots on grabbing a bucket. "What are you doing?" He smiles reaching his hand back to lace his fingers with mine. "I'm going to get breakfast." I cock my head to the side. His grin widens. "Come on I'll show you." I nod softly and he helps me slide on my boots.

We head out into the field towards the barn. He opens the doors revealing chickens to me. "I'm still kinda confused on how we are getting breakfast. Please tell me we aren't gonna kill a chicken." He laughs shaking his head. "Stick your hand under that chicken." I look at him funny doing it anyways. I pull out an egg looking at him. "Oh that's right chickens lay eggs." He laughs lightly at me. We go around and collect the eggs before closing up the chicken coop and head back to the house.

I watch him as he cracks the eggs a few coming out bloody. "Jacob why are those eggs bloody." He looks at me and frowns. "You don't want to know Sarah." I frown leaving to go sit on the couch. I pull my legs up into my chest and before too long Jacob brings me a plate of food sitting down next to me. I take my fork to push the eggs around my plate. He glances at me and I take a bit just to please him. He goes back to eating and I watch a tear hit my plate. He looks over at me. "Awe geez Sarah." He says placing his plate on the table.

He tugs on my plate setting it next to his before pulling me into his lap. "What's wrong?" I shake my head. "It's nothing." He lifts my face wiping my tears. "Sarah..." he whispers to me. I lean in kissing him as hard as I possibly could. "What was that for?" I frown. "I was hoping you could take the pain away." He smiles wiping my tears. "I wish I could but that's not how it works Sarah." I kiss him harshly again. "Maybe it can...." He looks up at me before cupping my face to kiss me. "What's got you so upset?" I huff knowing he won't be kissing me anymore until I tell him. "You've been so nice to me and I have to go back home soon. I don't want to go back Jacob. It's...not the same. I love my brother but he can be strict and once he knows that you know he won't ever let me come back."

"I like being here. With you. Sleeping next to you." I whisper the last part looking down. He lifts my face. "Then just stay Sarah. I told you that the option of staying here while you helped me was an option and that's all your brother has to see it as. Not that I know anything but you are simply staying to help." I huff and he leans in touching his nose to mine. "I like sleeping next to you too Sarah." I smile widely. "That's not how this works Jacob." He hums. "Isn't it?"

I shake my head. "Someone like you doesn't end up saving someone like me." He frowns. "Sarah..." I get up sighing. "Thank you though." I say before sliding my boots back on. "Where are you going?" He asks standing and I turn to him. "Back to my house Jacob." I grab the door knob and he placed his hand on the door keeping me from opening it. "Please don't leave...." I frown touching his face. "I have too..." He frowns moving his hand letting me leave.
