"Jefferson, we've hated each other through all of high school, and we've had multiple detentions together," Alexander reminded his boyfriend. "Your parents are going to despise me. I've gotten you suspended before!"

Today was the day where Alex would meet Thomas' parents, and since he wasn't on the best terms last time they spoke, he was somewhat concerned. He had to somehow turn his bad first impression, to a sweet and charming eleventh impression.

"Lex, it won't be that bad," Thomas smirked at Alex's panicking. He already knew that this would go downhill faster than a hurricane wiping out an entire town. He was still excited to see how Alex would react to shit hitting the fan. He usually handled bad situations by leading himself and others deeper into them until he eventually fell through the other side, but that wasn't an option here.

"You don't know that it won't be bad," Hamilton hissed bitterly, grabbing a scarf off the rack. He had no family to go to for the holidays, and since the Schuyler's were upstate, he couldn't even go with them like he usually did. Jefferson finally gave in to Alex begging to come with him for Christmas, but that was only after he promised him that he'd cook only mac n cheese for the next two months.

"Let's just go, and get it over with," Jefferson scooped his tiny boyfriend up, carrying him out to the car. "Front seat or back?"

"Does the AUX cord reach into the back?" Alex asked quietly, debating whether or not he'd need to sit up front. "I really wanna play stuff from-"

"Miranda. Yeah, we get it, Alex. You're obsessed with that Min-Lanuel."

"Lin-Manuel, thanks!" Alexander growled, visibly butthurt. "And for that, I'm sitting in the back. You won't be able to hold my hand while driving."

Thomas laughed, rolling his eyes. "Whatever shall I do?"

Alexander huffed and plugged his phone into the AUX cord, beginning to play his music. Thomas only pretended to hate the music, but in reality, he was really enjoying it. His favourite part was watching Alex try to rap in a French accent, since it really wasn't working out for him.

The car ride down was six hours, which meant that Thomas got to play his music too, which just happened to be Heathers. Alex hadn't even had any idea that his boyfriend was into Heathers, and in that moment, he was sure that they would get married someday.

"How much longer?" Alex muttered boredly, taking the AUX cord back.

"We're almost there, Lex," Thomas answered, patting his boyfriend's hand. Alex hissed and pulled it back, trying to make himself stay mad at Thomas. He didn't even remember why he was mad at this point, but he had to stay mad just in case Thomas remembered.

When they pulled into the driveway, Alex's heartbeat quickened. Sure, he had been imagining this happening, but it was all so real now. One wrong move and he'd have to kiss Thomas goodbye, and he wouldn't even be allowed to kiss him.

"You're shaking," Jefferson snickered, taking his hand to calm him down. It worked every time, except for this time. He was gonna need to actually speak to Alex in order for him to not freak out. "They're going to love you, don't worry."

"In case anything goes wrong in there, Jefferson, know that I love you," Hamilton slowed down his pace as they approached the door. Thomas pushed him along, knocking at the door. They heard footsteps, and Alex's breathing got out of control.

Thomas grinned, squeezing Alex's hand. "Don't panic. They can smell fear."

"Well, fuck, Jefferson!"

His mother opened the door at that, glaring at him. Alex gulped, laughing to hide his embarrassment.

"Awh, Tommy!" His mother squealed and dragged Alex inside. Mood swings much. "He's so small! Hi! You must be Alex. I'm Jane, nice to meet you- finally!"

"Thomas," Alex narrowed his eyes as he was pulled into a hug. "You said that your mother was a merciless bitch who would beat me with a strap if I said anything wrong."

Jane gasped, staring coldly at her son. "You said what? Maybe Alex shouldn't be allowed to marry you! He deserves someone much better!"

"Mom," Thomas protested. "I said it to scare him-"

"Nobody scares my son. Isn't that right, sweetheart?" Jane lifted Alex's chin up, smiling warmly at him. Alex felt a wave of relief flood over him, until he remembered that he hadn't met Thomas' father yet.

"Right," Thomas grabbed Alex's hand, dragging him upstairs. He laughed and pulled him onto the bed. "How you managed to turn my own mother against me is beyond my comprehension."

"A lot of things are beyond your comprehension, dear," Alex giggled, placing a kiss on Thomas' cheek. "So.. What's your father like?"

"Pretty intense, and I'm not kidding with that one," Thomas wrapped his arms around Alexander, pulling him onto his lap. "Just be yourself, but don't. No debating, no yelling, no mentioning Miranda, and most importantly, no stating political opinions."

"What am I supposed to talk about, then?" Alex wondered fiercely, sticking his forearm into Thomas' hair. Thomas laughed awkwardly in confusion and pulled his boyfriend's hands out.

"Just go with whatever they say," Jefferson answered, placing a kiss on Alex's neck. "Promise me you won't do anything stupid."

"This is me we're talking about, Tommy."

"If it seems like a good idea to you, don't do it," he stood up, causing Alex to slide off his legs and hit his ass on the floor. He swore loudly, making Thomas laugh and scoop him up. Alex buried his face in his boyfriend's sweater, basking in his warmth.

"Wait, did you hear that?" Alex gasped, looking out the window to see if a car was in the driveway. "That's a car. Thomas, oh my god. Your dad is home and this is our final goodbye. Let's just fuck in case we never get to again!"

"Alexander," Jefferson rolled his eyes. "Be quiet. Let's just go down to see him."

Alex let out a huff of frustration and followed Thomas down the stairs. He still had no clue how to navigate this house, so if he got separated, he'd be lost for all eternity. It was like a maze with an obvious exit, but you probably shouldn't leave.

"Oh! Peter, look!" Jane grabbed her husband's arm. "This is Alexander."

Mr. Jefferson observed Alex, a slight smile growing on his face. The other Jefferson's knew exactly what he was smiling about, and it seemed that Alex figured it out too.

"I'm not that small!"
