It was cold outside, not too cold where it was unbearable, but cold enough for a sweatshirt to be wrapped around his torso. Felix had been sitting at the park for 30 minutes, waiting for his friend, Jisung, to pick him up. It wasn't uncommon for Jisung to be late, but he was never past 10 minutes. So Felix, being the great friend he is, decided to check on his friend.
"Hey, where are you I've been at the park for half an hour already, I'm getting worried is everything okay?" He pleaded, hoping nothing was wrong.
"Huh? Yeah everything's fine, but why are you at the park? We aren't meeting up until tomorrow? Did you forget it was Friday?" Jisung chuckled from the other end.
"Wait, but you said we were meeting up on Friday, right?" The Australian voiced.
"I said the day AFTER Friday, not Friday. I'm busy today anyway. You need to get your ears checked dude." Jisung replied.
"Oh..." He sighed, "sorry to bother you than, have fun with your boyfriend~" Felix teased, hanging up before he could get a rely.
Putting his phone in his pocket, he walked to the nearby cafe he loved and ordered a plain hot chocolate, sitting at a table to wait for his order to be ready.
Felix scanned the tables for any familiar faces, but was let down when no one he recognized was there. He'd just have to spend his day alone. When his order came, the blonde stood up and made his way out to the bench in the park he was sitting on before. Coming to realize there was someone sitting there, he surveyed the park for any open benches, but was let down when there were none.
"Is this seat taken?" He asked the man, who was writing in a notebook. He revived a quick 'no' from the stranger, the unidentified male not looking up for a second. Hesitantly, Felix sat down on the bench and enjoyed his hot chocolate, curiously glancing at the stranger that sat next to him.
Since he was closer now, he noticed how handsome the man was. With a nice jaw line and smooth skin, he could've easily been mistaken for a model or idol with how beautiful his face was. He had thin, circular glasses on his face, and a fuzzy gray sweater on. He looked soft.
"Staring is rude" he heard a voice say, before finally coming to his senses and realizing he was staring at the person the voice came from. He muttered a quiet 'sorry' before looking at his hot chocolate cup.
Felix heard a small chuckle and some papers shuffling before he felt a tap on his shoulder, making him turn his head to face the attractive male beside him.
"What's your name? I'm Chan, or Chris." The man, now known as Chan, asked.
"Felix, nice to meet you." He responded, holding his hand out so they could shake hands. Chan accepted his handshake and let his hand go a couple seconds after it got too long for a normal handshake.
"Are you American?" Chan asked him, "your name doesn't seem Korean." He added.
"Actually, I'm Australian." Was Felix's reply.
"No way! So am I." Chan squealed, "that means you speak English?" Chan added in English.
"Yes I do, actually." Felix smiled. Chan smiled back, surprising Felix with his cute, dimpled smile.
After a couple minutes they had both gone silent, looking at their laps, or the trees in the park to avoid any awkward eye contact, the awkward silence being about all either of them could take.
Felix was first to break the silence, first with an awkward cough, next with the almost silent gulp of hot chocolate.
"Damn, it's empty." Felix whispered to himself, before tossing the empty cup into the nearby trash can. He looked back at his hands, a small glance being shared with Chan.
