I stepped out onto the deck of the boat with a couple dozen other people on board, my best friend Michelle followed behind me. We reached the side of the boat and leaned against the railing. I let my hood down and I felt the breeze pass by and flow through my hair. I had finally arrived to a possible safe haven, Mackinac Island. (I'm just using this location because it's a place I'd like to go to someday. Don't worry.) I set my bag down beside me and looked out into the distance of the horizon line. The sun was rising, I had never been happier to be outside. Michelle put her arm around me and gave me a hug. "We're finally here Sunshine," She smiled while staring out to the island. "I hope its all that we hoped it to be." She turned her head to me and smiled brightly about our adventure together to get here. I smiled back. Feeling the swerve of the boat stopping and stepping off the boat and onto the dock. "This is the place we were destined to be Michelle. Let's make the best of it." I gazed at her and then back to the town. She held my hand, "Together, Sunshine." I lifted our hands. "Forever." I smiled. We walked into the town and headed towards our new home. We planned on living together but later decided that we would just live close to each other. She was a street down from me, a lot of stuff was expensive in the town because of the items being imported from the main land but we didn't mind. We both had good jobs and we were able to afford things in the town. Me and Michelle are childhood best friends. Well she's the only friend that I've really had before I got into my job. I wouldn't have become what I am if it wasn't for her. No one really talked to me because I was born with blue hair. But Michelle didn't care about it, she thought that it didn't matter because judging people like that is cruel and wrong. She also didn't care all that much because she was born with pink hair. I loved her hair so much, I loved the way she inspired people to be themselves. She works as a "move around" type doctor, basically, she works where she lives and she has tended to move a lot. She used to just drive or fly or go by boat to a hospital that needed her. But she's a great person anyway. We always had planned on moving to somewhere that had an ocean view. We always lived around that type of environment and we absolutely love it.
