Everything you do it sends me

Higher than the moon with every

Twinkle in your eye

You strike a match that lights my heart on fire

Todoroki rarely smiled. Deku could count these instances on one hand, with a lot of fingers left over. On the rare occasions that he'd seen Todoroki smile, it had been a small one, so small that you'd miss it if you blinked. But that only made them more precious to Deku, who would take a moment and memorize the other boy in detail. When Deku made him smile, his heart seemed to float- as if Uraraka had used her quirk on it. Those rare moments filled him with unimaginable pride because he felt as if he was chipping away at the ice around Todoroki.

Right now was one of those moments. The two boys had ran into each other in the park and began talking- it was mostly Deku who was talking though. Todoroki was content to sit in silence, listening to his green-haired friend. He enjoyed listening to the passion that seemed to fill Midoriya with everything he did, from simply talking to training to be a hero. Yes, Todoroki was happy to simply listen quietly, no matter what Midoriya said. At least until he felt something nudge his leg. A small dog with two different colored eyes stared up at him before nudging its nose against his leg again. He leaned down slowly, scratching behind its ears with a gentle smile. Deku glanced over and felt his heart stutter, watching Todoroki's face as he pet the dog beside him. His usual stoic face was softer and maybe even vulnerable; it made Deku's heart race to see his friend like this.

When you're near, I hide my blushing face

And trip on my shoelaces

Grace just isn't my forte

"Midoriya," Deku felt the couch cushion dip down as someone sat next to him. "What are you doing?"

He looked over and met heterochromatic eyes. Todoroki's passive face watched him curiously and he felt his stomach jolt nervously.

"Hey Todoroki," He tilted his notebook towards the other boy, showing him what he'd been writing. "I was writing down everything I saw during training today, everyone's improving so much lately..."

Deku began to ramble on about their classmates and their quirks, flipping through pages to point at sketches. After flipping past a new sketch of Kaminari after he'd fried his brain, he landed on notes about Todoroki. He felt heat creep up his cheeks and started to turn the page when he felt a cool hand on his. White hair brushed his face as Todoroki leaned even closer and Deku turned, watching his face.

"You wrote about me?" Deku turned his face away, embarrassed. He had filled pages with notes on Todoroki and there were multiple sketches of him scattered throughout them.

"Well yeah," He mumbled, oblivious to Todoroki's pink cheeks. "Your quirk is amazing and you're so strong..."

Todoroki's hand still covered his own as his other hand turned the pages. The two sat in silence as Todoroki read, tracing his fingers over the words slowly. He felt the minutes tick by and it seemed as if Todoroki was thoroughly analyzing every word and sketch Deku had done of him. The thought was nerve wracking.

Todoroki turned the page once more and froze when his eyes landed on the last sketch. Deku's stomach squeezed tightly as pale fingers touched the page in almost reverence.

While the other sketches detailed various scenes of Todoroki training and using his quirk, this one was a snapshot of a different side of him. He sat at his desk, a book in his hands. Todoroki marveled at the level of detail that had been added to this particular sketch, the way his hair fell over his forehead and the peaceful expression on his face.
