Amelia's POV
"No Ashton, for the tenth time I will not wrestle a shark"
"Why not? Sharks are cool"
"And dangerous"
"What's life without a bit of danger" he smirked.
"Safe, with no one to mess up your future plans"
"Future plans? You've planned your future?" He asked in disbelief.
"Of course. After I'm done here I'll go to a top university to study Law, then become a lawyer, then get married, get a massive house with a golden labrador and three children-"
"Wooahh there" Ashton said looking a bit scared.
"I'm sorry.." I blushed with embarrassment.
"It's okay.. it's just scary how you plan every aspect of your lives. Why not take things as they come?"
"Because you don't know what might happen, what if it all goes wrong?"
"That's life. What if you don't get into a top university? What if you fail Law?"
"T-that's impossible. I've never failed in my life" I suddenly tensed up, "Now let's hurry up and do this assignment because failing is not an option"
Ashton had a confused expression, I knew what he was thinking. It's just I had to protect myself from him, from them, they were trouble and I didn't need that in my life right now. I had to keep my walls up, after all I had already learned from my mistakes the last time I let them down.
We decided we would write five tasks each and pick five from a hat.
These were my five
1. Come to school in outfits chosen by each other
2. Cinnamon challenge
3. Go to a concert
4. Swim in a lake
5. Wear odd shoes
These were his five
6. Racing the streets at midnight
7. Dye your hair temporarily
8. Skateboard down the school's railings
9. Ice skate on a pond
10. Kidnap someone's pet for 10 minutes
I laughed.
"What's so funny?" He asked.
"You seriously expect me to dye my hair?"
"It's temporary, comes out in a single wash"
"Race the streets at midnight?"
"Little bit of exercise never hurt anyone"
"Kidnap someone's pet for 10 minutes?!"
"It's funny" he shrugged.
I exhaled, "Oh Ashton"
The ones we decided to do together were to come to school in outfits chosen by each other, racing the streets at midnight, wear odd shoes, kidnap someone's pet for 10 minutes, ice skate on a pond, go to a concert.
The ones I picked out from Ashton's beanie were dye your hair temporarily and the cinnamon challenge.
This left Ashton with skateboard down the school's railings and swim in a lake.
"Okay class, settle down now, you should have written and allocated your ten tasks. I'm going to give you scrapbooks to record all these tasks, you have to write them in and plan when you will do them"
