You had been walking for hours in a blizzard.

That night, your owner had finally snapped. He had taken a metal baseball bat and hit you with it, again and again and again until you could barely move. Somehow, he knew you had become a deviant and had beaten you within an inch of your life. You had barely escaped from his house. You knew the only way to survive was to get out of Detroit as soon as possible. You took the public bus to the outskirts of the city and walked into the forest, trying to get as far away as possible. It quickly started to snow, and your systems were beginning to shut down.

Tears were rolling down your cheeks. They froze on the surface of your skin as you walked, shivering heavily beneath your thin uniform. You could feel your blood freezing in your arms and legs. You were getting dizzier and dizzier with every step you walked.

You looked up and nearly fainted. Through the maze of evergreen trees, through the snow, there was a house. It was a large wooden cabin, with large windows and a chimney puffing black smoke. The windows glowed faintly with light and warmth. You almost started crying again as you approached the house.

You walked more quickly through the banks of snow, trying to ignore the overwhelming pain in your joints and in your head. You walked up onto the porch and lay one bleeding hand against the wooden front door. Your head spun, and you were quickly forced to your knees. You reached for the doorknob, but your vision blurred and you collapsed in a sobbing heap on the front porch.

You lay there for only a couple of minutes before the front door swung open. You felt yourself be scooped up out of the snow into a pair of strong arms. You lay your cheek against their chest, closing your eyes and momentarily shutting down.

You woke slowly in the early hours of the morning. Your head was still foggy, but you sat up anyway.

You were in a large, king-sized bed with a strong oak frame. The sheets were silk and the blankets were thick and heavy, trapping warmth beneath the comforters. You were wearing a soft, fluffy bathrobe that clearly belonged to a man, due to the undeniable scent of men's cologne that lingered on the fabric.

You swung your feet out of bed and noticed the absence of cuts and damage to your legs. You looked at your arms and saw that all of the destroyed skin was gone. Every cut or dent on your body had seemingly been erased.

You stood up out of bed, your sock-covered feet sinking into the fluffy carpet. You walked to the door of the bedroom and opened it.

The house was larger than you thought. There was a kitchen with marble countertops and an island in the middle. A large, shiny refrigerator was set against the wall, and the cabinets were all full of gleaming plates and cutlery. Connected to the kitchen was a large living room. Large windows that stretched from the ceiling to the floor offered an expansive view of the snow - blanketed forest. Three large, expensive looking couches were set meaningfully around the room.
