All that could be heard was a gunshot before the space feel silent. Iris was still holding the gun, her hands shaking, barely having it lowered before Pie reached her, chucking it to the dirt away from them. He was yelling, but she couldn't hear him. All she heard was the man infront of her hit the ground, and then ringing. She snapped back to reality when she realized she was being shaken and shrugged him off, pulling her arms to herself. She was in shock- She actually killed him. He was dead. Finally.

"What the fuck Iris" Pie hissed, pushing her back away from the man and the gun. She finally snapped back to reality, shoving him back. "What the fuck ME? He killed her, Pie! For no fucking reason!" She shouted and he threw his hands up. "He was on trial! He was being dealt with!" He started but she was already walking away. "He would have gotten off. Oh, just a girl. Didn't mean anything. Don't wanna loose a ranking fucking member" She said, stomping inside. She had a few moments before Pie threw the door open. "What the fuck do you mean by that?" He asked and she raised an eyebrow. "What do I mean by that? I mean your justice system is biased, and rigged in the favor of scumbags like him. Am I wrong?" She asked, and he shot her a look. "You know we aren't like that-"

"No, you aren't like that. Because you aren't like them. But the rest of them? They'd burn me alive and piss on my ashes because i'm a human, and to them that doesn't mean shit. Loyalty doesn't mean shit. Its all about blood" She concluded. She thought she had won- he was silent, and she had her back to him, but when she glanced in his direction he didn't hesitate to give it back. "It was never about blood and you know that." He said, his tone low. Iris just scoffed.
"You may not see it now, but thats the only reason they care for you, too" She said, her tone cold. Ending the conversation.

"Thanks for finally deciding to stop by" Iris grumbled, sitting up from the blanket on the floor. It was damp concrete, and not the most comfortable thing to lay on. She raised her arm a bit, one cuff still on her hand from her arrest. "Did you bring keys?" She asked, and he scoffed. "You would have them off, if you hadn't  decided to try and stab the guard" he said, his tone bitter. She scoffed. "He practically groped me. Act like a pig, get stuck like one" She said, and he sighed, seating himself opposite to her on the floor. "Your trial is tonight. What are you going to say?" He asked and she gave him a look. "I'm going to say that he killed Bianca, and I didn't trust your justice system to handle him and feared for my life" She said and he ran his fingers through his hair. "Thirteen years, Iris. I've known you for thirteen years. You were the first girl I kissed, I went to my first concert with you. And now you're just gonna leave me here like this?" He asked, his eyes pleading with her in a manner she ignored. "They won't care, they won't care if I plead not guilty or claim self defense-" she started and he cut her off. "Clifton isn't like that. He's family, he'll give you a fair trial" Pie argued and she managed a cold laugh. "He's not family. Family is love and loyalty. All he is to you, all he is to anyone, is fucking blood. Because thats all that matters, isn't it?" She asked, and Pie shot her a glare she'd never seen before. It was like he hated her, and she didn't like it, looking away. "You talk an awful lot about loyalty, for someone who doesn't have any. If you did, you wouldn't have shot him. You would have understood that he would have been handled. But you're just too fucking ignorant to do that, and you had to kill him. And guess what? Blood is important, Iris. We all have it in us. I'm a fucking vampire, I need it. Its our entire culture. But what would you know about that?" He asked, his tone solidifying Iris's fears. He didn't love her anymore. He couldn't- She loved him, and nomatter how pissed she was she never spoke to him like that. It hurt, and she didn't realize how much it hurt until she realized she had bitten down on her cheek, hard.

It was a short moment before the all too familiar metallic taste in her mouth came rushing back, and another moment before her thoughts came swirling to a conclusion. If she was going to die, she might as well go out with a bang, on her terms. After all, its all about blood.
