Snape's eyes never dropped their intimidating stare from the great doors of the dining hall. He waited furiously for the appearance of the all to familiar bushy honey brown hair, the glance of those intelligent eyes. But he was left to disappointment, as dinner came to a close Hermione Granger had not been so much as spoke of.

"Damn it." The slytherin muttered as he rose from his seat, dismissing the glances that were sent his way with the flick of his pale hand. His dark cloak seemed to make him flow as he stormed from the hall. Catching up with Potter just as the young boy was about to turn into the Griffindor common room. "Mr.Potter." Snapes voice rolled dragging the ending letters of the famous name and watching as the wild black hair turned to reveal the still scrawny but more mature face of his least favorite student. "Yes Professor?" Harry's voice was laced with annoyance.

"I am afraid I have a dire situation, one that needs to be discussed with Miss.granger but as you may have noticed." He took a pause before continuing "She didn't attend my class nor did she appear at dinner. If you should happen to see her please send her my way." He gave Harry a curt nod before turning to leave.

"Professor!" Harry sputtered, taking a large stride to once again be in conversation length from Snape. "Hermione's been missing all day, no ones seen her for ages I...I won't be able to help you but...perhaps you could help us? You're on watch duty tonight correct?" Harry hinted.

"Yes, what are you getting at?" Snape hesitated lowering his eyes to the short boy. "Well perhaps you could take a detour along your way and look for her. We're all really worried." Harry's brilliant emerald eyes pleaded with snapes, who looked ready to vomit at the sight of Harry asking him for help. Even after Harry figured out the hero Snape was, there was still a lingering of bad blood between the two.

"I suppose so," Snape began and upon seeing Harry's face light up with gratitude continued "but only because she is a student and I'm both concerned for her safety and upset with her absence." He Warned not wanting anyone to believe he actually had grown to care for someone. "And because you have that news to tell her." Harry added with the tiniest of smirks. "Right." Snape scoffed feeling the heat beginning to rise to his pale cheeks he turned and thundered away keeping his head down so that his thick hair covered the burning blush that had blossomed across his face.

As night swiftly fell over the castle and basked its Stone in dark and silver hues, one figure remained in is halls. Tall and lanky, with a slight limp in his steps Snape searched each corridor and every cupboard that a girl her size could and would fit in. There wasn't even a sign that anyone had been there in the recent past. As his heart began to quickly loose hope his mind grew a steady fear. And just as he started to think of the worse possibilities he rounded a dark and cool corner, in his peripheral vision caught sight of a feminine figure just outside.

Stopping abruptly Snape nearly gasped aloud if gasping was a thing that he did. Hermione granger stood outside in the pale moonlight in the most stunning gown he'd ever seen. It was a crimson red with a dangerously low cut front and a scooped back. It was a slick material, from the distance he was at he judged it to be silk, it had a single slit down the side of it revealing a slender, tan leg and the straps holding the ensemble up were tiny, they couldn't have been thicker than his nail. Her hair was pulled up in a bun, strands of it framing her face the nights breeze whipping them about. "Hermione?" He marveled stepping closer to the glass.

"Hermione?!" He said again his voice growing loud enough so that she turned and met his eyes. "Oh Severus." She gaped looking over her shoulder before hurriedly walking over to him pressing her small palm against the cool material. "What on merlins earth are you doing?!" He perplexed as his eyes ran her up and down. A smile tugged on the corner of her lips bringing out a sly grin, she pulled her wand from her bun and muttered a spell, the glass between them vanished so that she could step through to him. "I was just preparing myself a little speech, I always do my best thinking outdoors." She beamed.

"Well Hermione, you nearly gave me a panic. Were you out there all day, for heavens sakes?!." Snape exclaimed pulling her into his arms so that he could be sure that she was really there, his overwhelming fear of loosing another love slowly sinking itself back into his heart, vanishing from the surface for now. He buried his face into the crook of her neck and inhaled her scent before pulling back to admire her. "Yes I'm terribly sorry about that, you see I was going to surprise you in your chambers later tonight." She looked down at her dress "you do like it don't you?" Her worry seeped into her voice as she questioned his judgment on her appearance. "Hermione, my darling, I wouldn't mind if you wore a mere rubbish bin, I will forever find you exquisitely stunning." He murmured into her ear pressing a sweet kiss to her jaw. "But of course this is extremely appreciated." A smirk appeared on his sly expression as a blush swished itself across hers. "So to what do I owe this divine but slightly spoiled surprise, and what's all this about a speech?" Snape raised a brow his eyes lingering to long on her torso rather than her eyes. "All in good time professor...all in good time." The gryffindor took her turn to mimic her lovers signature smirk and press an alluring kiss to his exposed neck, "come along" she said "I've got quite the plans for you." Hermione grabbed his hand, unafraid of who might see as she led him to his own chambers.
