Lavender had left after a long and awkward silence, she had known that it would be a lot to take in and that Arabella would obviously need to have time to think. She hadn't stated that 'it would be up to Arabella to stop him, but they both knew that that was the truth behind her words.

As Arabella stumbled back up to the cottage she thought about what she was going to do, she had never had even the slightest adventure and didn't even know much about Aojo except she had heard a rumor going around that he only had one dark red-eye right in the middle of his forehead.

Gradually opening the front door, Arabella packed up her blankets, food, water and one more pair of clothes, she had no idea how long she would be away but was aware that it could be a really long time. She knew that she shouldn't tell her father what she was going to do as that would worry the family but instead made her note incredibly brief:

Dear Father and Maria

I have been chosen to do a duty which I must carry out but with this duty, I have to leave the house for a long period of time. I don't know how long I'll be but don't come looking for me, it's too dangerous, go into hiding, get away from here, you aren't safe.

- Arabella

Sighing, Arabella folded the note in half and left it where she knew they would see it. As she looked back, Arabella let out a loud sniff, causing her father to stir but he stayed put, sleeping. With the door creaking loudly and Arabella's footsteps echoing throughout the house, she felt sure that someone would wake up and force her into bed, she might have even wanted that a little bit, but no one came and so she exited the dwelling and made her way onto the road for the second time that night.

"Goodbye." she murmured, before stepping off into the night.
