That night I slept the best I have in a long while. See, I'm prone to nightmares, but that story's for a later date. But last night, no nightmares. Not one. Not even a flinch. So when I woke up that morning to the sound of my phone letting me know I'd received a text after a long sleep, I'd definitely say I was pleasantly surprised. Even more so after I'd checked my phone and saw the text waiting for me.

*Text received*

*Cameron*

You got any plans today? If not, I have a surprise for. If you do, well then, clear your diary 'cause I have a surprise for you ;)

*Elise*

No plans. Though I'm not sure whether to be excited or frightened about

this :P

*Cameron*

That depends on your luck and my skill I suppose. But let's go with excited :D pick you up in an hour?

*Elise*

See you then!

And that's pretty much how that went. And even though he settled on excitement, I was most certainly leaning towards frightened. But, nether the less I'd be spending another day with the guy who made me smile, the guy I couldn't keep my mind or eyes off of, and the guy who was apparently fixing my sleepless nights. So I couldn't complain. Hey, maybe my luck was turning around! So, I dragged myself out of bed and hurried to get ready. After a quick freshen up in the bathroom I hunted through my wardrobe for something to wear. I settled on some skinny turn up jeans, and a flowy crop top with the word 'weird-o' on the front. I then went over to my vanity mirror and stuck with the basics for make up. A little mascara and lipgloss, just to wake me up a little. After a quick all over glance in the mirror, I picked up my bag and bounced down the stairs. As I turned into the kitchen I noticed my mum sitting at the breakfast bar with her newspaper and cup of coffee. She glanced up and smiled at me. "You look nice today, dear. Where you off to?" "No idea" I replied with a giggle. She looked ever so slightly confused. "Are you going to explain?" "There's not really much explaining I can do. Cameron's coming to get me and has some sort of surprise planned. That's as much as I know" Her facial expression changed entirely at the thought of this. I'd never really had too many friends at home, and the one boyfriend I did have didn't go too well, so the thought of me having a friend, that was a boy, that was also showing an interest in me, and making an effort must have been quite pleasing for her. "Well, just be careful, and have a good time, but definitely be careful" I raised an eyebrow at her "Mum, I get the feeling you want me to be careful" I say with a smirk "Yeah yeah, I get it, you know" she says laughing back at me. And then the doorbell rang. Both mine and my mums heads shot towards the front door, but neither of us actually moved. I looked at the clock, 10 minutes early. The doorbell rang again. Mum was staring at me now. I stared back at her. "WELL?" She says, eyeing me. "Oh right, yes" I stutter, jumping into action and heading for the door. I take a deep breath and straighten myself out before pulling the door open. "Finally" he says grinning at me "I was about to start spam ringing" "You're early..." Is what I just about manage in reply "and yet, you're ready" he says cockily as he checks my outfit, head to toe. I just stand there blushing as he looks me over. "I like the top, it suits you" he says trying to suppress a chuckle. I think he's trying to point out that, as my top says, I'm a bit of a weird-0. I just roll my eyes at him. "I have to put my shoes on, give me a sec" "I'll wait" he smiles at me. I turn on my heels and look in the under the stairs cupboard, reaching for my converse's before sitting on the bottom step and slipping them onto my feet. I look up at him "So what will I need for your little surprise?" "Absolutely nothing, actually the less the better!" Oh dear, I think to myself as I stand up and take my phone and keys out of my bag and pop them into my pockets. "Going now mum, I have my phone, catch you later" "Stay safe" she shouts back from the kitchen as I step outside and close the door behind me. "Right, when are you going to tell me what's going on then?" "Right now" he grins, lifting his arms and shoving something towards me. I take hold of it and look down at the hard object he's passed me. A skateboard? "By the look of confusion on your face I'm assuming I guessed right that you don't know how to skate, which is good for me, because my plan was to teach you" his face is beaming with delight. Skateboarding. He's going to teach me skateboarding. I was right to be frightened. "I'm going to die"
