In the past, the moment you were born, you were given a name, religion, status, political party. From the moment you were born, you were expected to live out the life defending an identity you didn't choose for yourself. But that all changed after the war. World War III came about because of the second civil war in the USA. The civil war was caused by problems between Democrats and Republicans. They're differences eventually got too much and they refused to listen to the opinions or acknowledge their differences. By 2050, the country was practically split right down the middle.  One side Democrats, one Republican.

Soon both sides had started to bring in other countries to their side, and World War III was upon us. At some point, the fighting had gotten so bad and so many countries were uninhabitable, that the remaining decided on a truce.

In 2064, the war was officially declared over. And too keep a war the disastrous from ever happening again, the remaining world leaders came to an agreement. To keep people from ever disregarding anyone else's opinions and differences again, all children, from the moment they are born, will be sent to live in facilities where they will pick their own name, religion, everything. But, their is a catch. You must have two children with a person of their choosing. From the time  you are finally considered an adult, at sixteen, to when you are finally at the end of your "window". The "window" is the number of years you are given to conceive and have two children. It's different for everyone.

Of course you have options for the partner who you will have the children with, but it is still from a group they have chosen. But you are given test to narrow it down to a few people and by the time you are sixteen, if you are female, you choose.

My name is Arly McCall. Tomorrow I meet my options.
