Chapter 2
Mr. McDonnell told all the seniors to take a seat and quiet down. It was a thirty minute assemble in which he covered what we should accomplish this year and what we should look forward to at the end.
After the conclusion of the assembly, we were to pick up our schedules. As I was walking over to pick up my schedule I bumped into someone. I looked up and it was someone I've never seen before.
"Oh my, I'm so sorry." He said in a thick southern accent
"Oh, you're fine, it was my fault." I said
"My name is Brady." He said, smiling.
"Hi. I'm Nicole." I said, shaking his hand.
"Well, I've got to go. I'll see you around?" He asked
"Yeah, I'll see ya." I said, as he was walking away.
I walked back to where Elliot and Lily were standing.
"So, what classes do you guys have?" Elliot asked
"I have English, AP Statistics, Sociology, and Crime and Logistics." I said
"I have English, Spanish 4, Sociology and AP Biology." Lily said
"I have English, AP Statistics, Team Sports and AP Biology" Elliot said
"Nice! We all have the first period together. That's great." I said
"Yeah. We should head up to Mrs. Henderson's now." Lily said
We all filed into class and Lily sat down next to me and Elliot next to her. We chose the back of the room.
"Hello, class. I love when I have seniors. You all are so ready to get out of here and so am I. I will not make this class hard as long as you all listen to me and don't act up during class. I'm passing around some paperwork, look at it and have your parents sign it." She says.
Lily passes me the papers and I turn and see Brady sitting next to me.
"Thank you." He says, smiling.
"No problem."
Before we knew it, the class was over and it was time to head to math.
Elliot and I say bye to Lily and we head to the other side of the school to the math wing.
At the end of class, we head to lunch with the rest of the senior class. Lily and I claim and table while Elliot talks to the other basketball players. I see Brady walk into the lunchroom by himself and I ask Lily if I should go get him to sit with us.
"Yeah, why not?" She replies
I get up and head to the entrance.
"Hey, Brady?" I ask
"What's up?" He asks
"Hey, my friend and I were wondering if you would want to sit with us?" I asked
"Yeah, that would be great. I don't really know anyone yet." He said, laughing.
"Yeah, no problem. We're right over here by the window." I said
He followed me over to the table and I introduced Brady to Lily.
"So Brady, where are you from?" I asked
"Georgia." He said, flashing a smile.
"Oh, nice." Lily said
"Do you mind if I ask why you moved to Oak Island?" I asked
