"Let's get you to your room, sweetheart?" through the murkiness, she heard his voice. Deep, gravelly and unsurprisingly comforting to her unsettled mind.



The drive had been an arduous one, with few pit stops and a constant feeling of uneasiness in the deptgs of her stomach- Jane was a wreck. An emotionally exhausted wreck, whose body demanded that she fall into a blissful unaware but sleep she did not want. Only answers.




While she dreamed of better times, her lover remained in his pained state. A solution to his anguish needed to be uncovered by herself or the older Winchester. Castiel needed their help and exhaustion would just have to wait.




Or so the female thought as she was carried from the beloved impala and into the bunker.



The familiar aroma of stale dust, pie and beer filled her senses and for a brief moment, Jane allowed herself to be comforted by the realisation that she was home.



But could a place really be called a sanctuary when one's lover was suffering through what he considered to be a fault of his own. With that thought, she yearned for her dark-haired angel and his vibrant blue eyes.



As Jane fell deeper into her borderline delirium, she felt the cool and inviting sheets that she recognised to be her bedspread. After weeks of spending her nights on thin mattresses, it was fair to stay that, Jane had never been happy to be within the confines of her own bed.




"Get some rest. I'll start looking to see what I can find." there was a pause. "We're going to help him, Jane." he sounded so sure of himself, she wished to be as confident as he. "I'll wake you up in a bit."




A parting comment and finally, Jane allowed herself to fall away from the world and into a place of nothing but peace and darkness...
