Ok ok ok. I REALLY should not post this. I have two other stories of which the plot has barely stratched the surface TT.TT

But this story has been a brewin' in my brain for at *least* four years on and off! I had a dream a while back about a girl who was forgotten when the new girl came to town and her emotional journey. I had it a couple of times so I decided to flesh it out and create a story about it.

I plan on updating the story, but if you have any feedback please let me know! I've been writing on Wattpad for a while but I haven't had much feedback to help me improve my writing. I've basically been surviving on my own criticism >.<

So without futher ado, I present Hopelessly Forgotten.

Chapter 1

It was the first day of September, aka, your first day of actual school in a long time. For a while, you and your Grandmother decided it would be best for you to be homeschooled after that instance.

You pumped your fist into the air, "This is it [name]. Time to live your life!"

The crisp air blew gently across your features as you took a moment to calm yourself. From last night, your body had filled with nerves that no matter what you did, would not go away. As you headed to the office, the cobblestone road offered you the comfort you so desperately needed.

It was the road to your future.

It took you a while to process the fact that no one recognized you. Although this was your first day ever at Radiant Academy, these were the people you grew up with. Yet, nobody had the slightest clue of who you were. When you went to the front office, your favorite person Aerith, greeted you as if you were a transfer student. After having several encounters like this, you decided it would be best for you to play along, to test everyone to see how long it would take for them to recognize you.

"Hey, are you the new student?"

You had gotten used to this question and rather than let it get to you down, you decided that you were going to create another persona. You had to make the situation fun somehow! You turned around only to have your heart drop, Kairi, your best friend since ever, was standing there waiting for you to answer, staring you down from top to bottom. It took everything in you to not break down and cry right there, "Yeah, the name's [name], you are?"

She stared at your face, seemly trying to etch the image into her brain, before saying anything, "Kairi."

"Well, nice to meet you Kairi," you faked looking at your watch and gave her your best smile, "I should get moving. I need to figure out where all my classes are so I don't become that helpless new student."

She scoffed at the mention of 'helpless new student', "Good, not like that other new girl. Anyways, I like you. I'll keep a seat for you at our table during lunch." With that she spun around and walked away, the sound of her heels clicking through the hallway.

You felt a tear escape your eye and moved quickly to wipe it away. You didn't want to spoil the persona you had worked a grand total of an hour to cultivate. Although you were sure you could make friends, you didn't think coming here would be so painful.

You pulled out your schedule to get your mind off of the issue. There was nothing special about your schedule, it was a standard junior year schedule at Radiant Academy: Training, Field Science, Health Tactics, and Diplomacy I. Your thoughts moved to the so called "new girl". Was she in any of these classes? Why was she still referred to as the "new girl" when she had been there for almost a year? Is she a good person? Would she still be the new girl now that you were here?
