"Where is he?"

I mentally asked myself as I pulled up onto a semi empty Country bar parking lot, in the middle of nowhere.

Seriously?

There were about six cars parked in the front and a few in the back of the building, but none were my boyfriend's, Jason's, black Range Rover.

He wasn't here yet.

"Yeah, hey, just checking in to see if we're still on for tonight, and also, I don't know if I'm at the right place... You sure it's The Ranch House?" I asked Jason via his voicemail.

"Just call me back when you're on your way..." I sighed and hung up the phone.

The clock read 9pm and cars were starting to pile up beside me. A bunch of men, wearing cowboy attire, got off and approached the bar. Not a woman in sight though.

Maybe they were coming later? I thought, trying to make myself feel better.

I waited in my car for about ten minutes. Little while after that the Texas heat started to get to me. There was no way in hell I was going to be able to sit here and wait for Jason a minute longer in 109 degree weather.

"Should I go in?" I asked myself as I wiped sweat of my forehead. "Yup, I'm going in." I immediately answered my own question and opened my car door.

I looked at myself through the reflection of my car's window. I was wearing a flowy black dress that reached above my knees accompanied by my teal necklace and some teal earrings. And may I mention, my black cowboy hat and boots that went with my outfit. It felt a little over the top if I was being honest with myself.

You'd think with me living in Texas, the most cowboy state, I'd be used to it. But no, I preferred leggings and an over sized T-shirt like the low maintenance woman I was.

As I made my way inside this new bar I had never heard of, I looked down at my phone in hopes that Jason would've called.

Nothing.

I rolled my eyes and looked over at the empty dance floor. Everyone seemed to be around it, drinking and conversing, but no one made the first move to go out and have a dance.

Maybe they were just waiting to be a little intoxicated? I know I would be, cause I can't dance for nothing.

"What can I get you, sweetheart?" The very petite bartender asked me as I sat down on what seemed to be the only empty stool at the bar.

"Just get me a house margarita, plenty of salt on the rim please." I replied to her with a smile on my face. She nodded and walked away as I pulled out my phone to check it for the hundredth time.

Nothing again.

Are you flipping kidding me? I  thought to myself, feeling frustrated now. Jason always does this, I don't know why I agreed to meet him here. Should've just waited at home, like I usually did, but even at home, I would've been disappointed.

"Good evening, darling." I heard a deep voice next to me say. I looked over thinking it was Jason, but to my surprise it was a complete stranger. He was looking down at me with an award winning smile. His eyes were the lightest shade of green I had ever seen and like every other guy there he was dressed like a total cowboy.

"Oh, hi" I responded with a light smile on my face, not really knowing what to say.

"What's a pretty girl like you doing here all alone?" He asked leaning his back against the bar.  I mentally rolled my eyes, looking down at my drink.
