I placed the fixed guitar on it's stand in my dressing room. "Thank you so much" I said to Andy as I examined the neck of it for the last time.
"It's really the least I could do" He said smiling, looking into his hands happily.
I sat, crossing my legs on the carpeted floor, it was by far the most comfortable carpet ever... I could've just gone to sleep there and then. I yawned tiredly, all the traveling and the commotion was taking it's toll. I hugged my knees relentlessly as I watched Andy giggle. "What's so funny?" I asked with a smile.
"That, was the cutest yawn I have ever seen" he chuckled moving his hair out of his face.
I poked my tongue out at him playfully, eyeing the writing on his leather jeans. His face burst into a big flawless smile but very quickly turned serious. I looked at him with confusion.
"Natasha..." he said looking down at his hands "Do you want to start over? I feel like I got off on the wrong foot toda-"
Before he could finish I had already begun to answer him. I shook my head "No, no I don't want to start over Andy. Of course, today hasn't been the most fortunate of days but I don't want to forget something that we could laugh about in months to come..." I paused and messed with the carpet nervously "Andy, that's our history... of course I don't want to start over."
I could tell this was something that he felt strongly about because he didn't take his eyes off of me once. He made me smile, not many people would dare and even try to hold eye contact with me for that long... except him. I really felt like for once, someone was listening to me and actually taking it in.
He smiled "Well, I'm happy as long as you are"
I grinned as I stretched trying not to embarrass myself by yawning too loudly again.
"You look tired" Andy grinned back.
"Noooo..." I laughed sarcastically.
The door opened and Jack walked in, shutting it behind him swiftly. He lay in the middle of the carpet slightly to the left of the room. I burst out laughing.
He looked up "Oh, hey Tash... Didn't see you there"
This resulted in more laughter because I was sat directly opposite the door.
"Well, I'll leave you two to rest" Andy said standing up slowly.
I started feeling really weird... I didn't want him to go.
"Don't you mind me" Jack said moving his arms and legs like you do when you make snow angels- I guess you'd call it carpet angels?:)
I stood up from the carpet and moved in front of Andy.
"Well, it's been great getting to know you" he said rubbing my arm comfortingly.
I smiled "You're only saying that to be nice" I whispered messing with his leather jacket.
"No i meant it" he smiled, he opened the door and pulled me into a warm breath taking hug. I clung onto him tightly and it lasted at least five minutes. It's nice to know that i didn't feel awkward around him.
Before breaking away, he whispered something into my ear "Goodnight my little bird."
I pulled away lightly "Little bird?"
"Well, I like to think of myself as batman" he said to me softly "his partner is robin, and a robin is a bird, it made sense in my head" he smiled
I giggled "You think of me as your partner?" I whispered hoping.
He nodded and rested his head on mine "I'd like to think so..."
"Well... Goodnight, my dark knight" I whispered in his ear with a wink.
He seemed so happy with the name I gave him, he was utterly speechless.I must've gone off into a trance because the next thing I knew, he kissed me lightly on the cheek.
"See you tomorrow beautiful" he said waving as he walked down the corridor.
I watched him walk as I leaned against the door frame in shock, a good kind of shock. When he was out of sight, I shut the door and turned to find Jack sitting in the middle of the room with what I hoped was his thinking face.
"How about a guitar duel?" he said excitedly
I sat on the couch physically drained "I promise you one first thing in the morning... I'm exhausted"
