Chapter 7

•Hayes's POV•

I rode my bike along the gravel, as thoughts raced through my head.

"Why had she called me?" I asked myself. I had this question in my head all night, and still couldn't find an answer.

I put my bike away and headed up to Nash and Cam's apartment. I put my key in the door and was greeted by Nash and Cam making a video.

"Payton's coming over tomorrow" I said before heading to the guest room, I was exhausted.

•Payton's POV•

I woke up and checked my phone.

Message from Hasss: Hey! You can come over around 10:30! See you soonnn

I replied with a "k" and started the shower. Once I got out I put on these flowy patterned shorts with a white crop top and vans. I do my makeup natural, and straighten my hair, and out it into a ponytail. I grab my phone and run down stairs. My sister mackenzie was eating breakfast, I joined her and then asked for a ride.

"So where am I taking you?"

"Nash and Cam's apartment" I mumble staring at my phone.

"Wait like Cam Dallas?!" She asked freaking out.

I nodded and laughed.

"Yea why?"

"He's so freakin hot" she said in all seriousness.

I laughed.

"Do you wanna come up?" I asked when we reached the complex.

She looked at me.

"Duh, let's go"

I laughed and hopped out. We took the elevator and arrived at the door. I knocked and waited.

"Hey!" The door opens and Hayes slide over, shirtless.

Cam and Nash looked over as Mackenzie stepped inside.

"Guys this is my sister Mackenzie"

In seconds Cam and Nash were over there. Hayes and I laughed and he led me to the balcony.

"Wanna play pingpong?" He asked with an eyebrow raise.

"Your on"

We played for what seemed like hours, I had laughed so hard.

We went inside for a snack and found Cam and Nash's phones. Hayes and I looked at each other and grabbed the phones. We took hundreds of ugly selfies and then went onto Instagram.

We took another picture and captioned it with "Hackeddddd by your favs @paytonlevine & @Hayes_instagram" we posted it and comments were insane with "Are you guys dating?" And "I ship it #payes" and "back off Payton" or "back off Hayes" we laughed them off.

"Wanna go to the beach?" Hayes asked. I nodded.

"Guys were going to the beach, wanna come?" Hayes shouted, causing me to laugh. It was just one of those days where you could laugh at anything.

Cam, Nash and Kenz came out and we walked to the beach.

"Selfie!" Cam shouted in his girly voice as he held up his phone.

We made the funniest faces and cam posted it.

I posted a different one with the caption 'Baes'.

I slipped my vans off.

I felt a hand grab mine and looked up to see hayes pulling me towards the water. I tried to resist it but it was impossible.

My feet slide against the sand as we reached the water.

I sprayed the cool water on Hayes with a kick in the ocean.

"Oh it's on!"

I shrieked as he pulled me over his shoulder and threw me into the ocean.

I came up with a "mad face" and tackled him into the water.

We both came up laughing so hard.

The sun setting and the water sparkled.

Hayes and I stood there staring at each other. When we finally came out of the water cam stared at us in curiosity.

"So you two a thing?" He asked with a smirk.

Hayes and I turned our heads to look at each and answer with a

"Just friends"

He carried me on his back down the beach.

"Hey guys!" Nash called from behind.

We turned our heads as he held up his iphone to take a picture.

Let me tell you, it actually was a really good picture, so I posted it with the caption 'Best Frienddd' and again the comments went crazy.

"Let's verify it on twitter that we are NOT dating" I said casually.

Hayes nodded as he pulled out his phone.

'Hey guys! Just wanted to clear things up in saying that #payes is not real! We are just good friends, thanks for listening|| @hayesgrier'

Comments varied from 'but you guys should date' to 'thank god'.

Again we laughed them off. One my Instagram picture Nash commented

'Love birds😍😋😘😉'

"Really Nash?!" I asked, holding in a laugh.

"What it's true!" He shouted as he ran up stairs.

Hayes and I both blushed.

"Wanna sleepover?" Hayes asked out of no where.

I shrug.

"Eh," I started,"jus kiddin, yea sure!" I answered with a smirk.

He laughed and we collapsed on the couch next to each other.

Hayes grabbed my hand.

"Just friends?" I asked quietly.

There was no answer for awhile until I felt him nod.

We drifted off, as it was around 1am now. Hayes arms wrapped around me.
