Carson's P.O.V
We were at the garden. Me, Sage, James and all of our other friends. The night James told me he loved went a little awkward after that. We didn't talk for a few days. But, Sage, insisted that we both came tonight to sort it out. Sage liked James a lot."You want a drink?" James asks.
"No, I'm fine." I reply. "Drinking in public isn't my thing."
"Anymore." Sage muttered.
James chuckles quietly as he gets up. I slap Sage and he laughs. "I missed this."
"Me too."
"I've missed you, Cars."
I send him a gross look. "Don't call me, Cars."
"I've been calling you that for years."
"Yeah, and it's passed." I reply. "I'm not 14 anymore."
Sage looked at me weirdly. "You've changed a lot."
"I have." I nod. "And I like myself this way."
"You're going to let that nerd, Dolan, influence you?"
I stare at him with a frown. "Excuse me?"
"Face it, Carson. He changed you. He turned you against me-"
"He did nothing but care for me and love me more than you ever did." I spit.
Sage sits back and rolls his eyes. "Whatever."
James sat back down next to me and noticed the tension.
"Did I miss anything?"
I shook my head. "No, but, I was just about to leave." I say standing up.
"So soon?" James questions.
"Yeah."
"I'll walk you-"
"I can go by myself." I smile. "Ill see you Monday."
James leads me to the front and kisses me softly. I turn around and I start to make my way home. It was dark out. The garden wasn't too far from my house. As I make my way down the street I see Ethan's house. His bedroom light was on. I then see him open his window. He quickly jumps out and closes it quietly, before climbing down toward the ground.
I stood there with my arms cross, trying to keep warm. Ethan dusts himself off and walks into light. His eyes meet mine and he looked good. Ethan wore black ripped jeans with a black long sleeve t-shirt.
A smile forms onto his face. "Are you stalking me?"
I shake my head. "Must be fate." I joke.
Ethan laughs and looks down. He stuffs his hands in his pockets.
"I'm sorry, Carson. About, Hazel and the building-"
"It's okay." I assure. "I just-I was angry before."
"Not now?" He asks with a smirk.
I shake my head. "So where are you going then?"
Ethan shrugs and looks around at the sky. "To see a friend."
"Cool."
"Why are you walking around this late?" Ethan asks. "It's far too cold and dangerous to be out here."
I laugh and I roll my eyes. "My bad."
"C'mon loser, lets get you home." Ethan smiles.
Ethan's P.O.V
I was about to offer Carson and my hoodie. But I didn't have a hoodie. So I had to watch her freeze in the breeze. But, luckily her house isn't far from mine.
We made jokes all the way down the street. It was a perfect night. As we reach Carson's house I had felt sad that she was leaving.
"Ill see you Monday." She says.
I nod. "Monday."
I turn around and Carson grabs my hand. She brings herself into my arms and I hold her tightly.
"Thank you." She whispers. "You always knew how to make me feel better."
I let her go and I wipe the hair out of her face. "Anything for you, Woodridge."
