THE NEXT MORNING, Maddie found herself being shoved off her bed. "What the fuck?" Maddie groaned before her killer headache set in before she jumped back onto her bed. "Wake up, we have to get ready for school!" Caroline cheered and Maddie let out a loud groan before turning over and slamming a pillow over her head.

"No." Maddie whined although it was muffled by the pillow underneath her. "Maddie, get up." Caroline huffed. "Get up or I'll call Stefan to send over deer blood and I'll make you drink only that for the rest of the week." Caroline threatened and at that, Maddie jumped up and got ready with a huff.

The two teenage vampires pulled up to the high school. Maddie had a big bottle of coffee mixed with blood and vodka, sitting in between her lap. Of course, her attempt at getting rid of a hangover was to drink more alcohol, something she learnt from Shameless, not that Caroline approved.

Getting out of the car, Caroline decided to just use Kol's old schedule instead of dealing with the "absolute bitch" that was apparently the office lady.

The blonde and the brunette linked arms and walked the halls before Maddie's arm was grabbed. Suddenly, the two were yanked into an empty classroom. "What the fuck?" Maddie asked before rolling her eyes as she saw Allison, Lydia, Scott, Stiles and Derek and taking three big gulps of what she claimed was "coffee".

"Okay, I'm ready. No wait..." Maddie stopped before taking another three. "Okay. Proceed." Maddie sighed and Caroline laughed silently at her best friend. "Lydia and Allison might have a lead on Erica and Boyd's location." Scott filled the two in and Maddie and Caroline looked at each other before looking to the group.

"Who?" They asked as Allison and Lydia put their arms together, showing some sort of symbol. "They're bruises." Caroline pointed out confused. "Exactly. How is a bruise going to tell me where Boyd and Erica are?" Derek asked and Maddie sighed, taking another sip of her iced coffee.

"It's the same on both sides. Exactly the same." Scott defended and Maddie shrugged. "A girl put them there and she has two hands. I don't know about you but my hands would make the same marks too." Maddie argued as Caroline just walked and stood next to Scott who smiled at the blonde and grabbed her hand making Maddie roll her eyes.

"It's nothing." Derek dismissed. "Pareidolia." Lydia hummed and Maddie narrowed her eyes at the strawberry blonde. "Look, I went to sleep at four in the morning and woke up at six. I've drunken three cups of coffee besides this and have a headache. English please." Maddie ranted and Lydia gave her a fake smile and Allison was slightly glaring at the blonde behind Maddie who was holding Scott's hand.

"Seeing patterns that aren't there." Lydia cleared up and Maddie sighed. "Yeah, I know that. It's the subset of apophenia. Let's say they do mean something. What would they mean? How would we know where to start with this?" Maddie asked and Allison and Lydia looked to each other. They hadn't thought that far ahead. "They're trying to help." Scott told the Hybrid and Alpha and Maddie took a sip of her coffee.
