Marco stepped out of the portal. He was in the throne room of Butterfly Castle right now. He was shocked because of the scene in front of him, everything was a mess. There were knights in a hot tub, all the servants that he can see around were lying unconscious on the floor, there were food stains and confetti on the floor. Marco kneeled down and looked at an unconscious servant. "What happened in here?" He asked himself while looking around.

Marco started to walk around. He stopped when he heard a mumbling above him. When he looked up, he saw a figure having a nap on top of a chandelier. The chandelier was swinging around and before Marco could give a reaction the man fell down from the chandelier to Marco's head. Marco's face hit the ground because of the impact and the man on top of his back slowly woke up. When the man woke up fully he noticed that he was sitting on somebody's back. The man quickly rolled down from Marco's back and help him to stand up. When he saw Marco's face he was a little shocked but happy at the same time. He attacked Marco with a hug before Marco could understand what's going on.

"Marco my boy, it's always great to see you." Marco quickly recognized the king's voice. "Uh, hey River." River released Marco from the hug and started to talk. "I'm happy to see you Marco, but what are you doing on Mewni? İf you are looking for Star, she is not here now." Marco wasn't sure if River was aware of the danger and he didn't want to make him worried about his family, Marco decided to not tell him anything about the danger because he wasn't sure if River could keep calm in this situation. "Star left Earth kinda in a hurry. Do you have any idea where she could be?" "She and her mother just took a little trip around the kingdom, and I am keeping the kingdom safe and under control while they are gone."

"Oh ok... Wait! Are you telling me that you are in the charge of the entire kingdom?" Marco thought about the things that can go wrong while River is in charge and everything he thought about end up creating a chaotic environment. "Yeah, what's the problem?" The king looked at Marco with a goofy smile. Marco started to run towards a balcony, when reached there and looked down to kingdom a few words escaped his mouth. "Oh no..." Marco was looking at a chaotic scene just like he thought, peasants were fighting with each other and some buildings were on fire.

"River are you sure that you are keeping the kingdom safe in the right way?" River stepped out to the balcony and looked down to chaos that's going on. "Yeah, of course. Although this chaos going on, the kingdom is still standing. That means I'm doing a fine job, right?" Marco looked at the king to make sure he wasn't kidding, then he slapped himself on the forehead after understanding that he was serious. "No River, doing a fine job means keeping the kingdom in peace." River looked at the boy standing in front of him then looked down from the balcony to the kingdom that was in chaos. "I messed up. Again." With that words, River turned around and get back in the castle. "Uh River, aren't you gonna do something about this?" Marco waited for an answer but there wasn't any coming.

Marco started to follow River until he stopped in front of a family portrait. "Sorry honey, I failed you again. You asked if I can keep the kingdom safe while you were gone. I know I promised you to not fail again. I failed you once and I'm doing the same mistake again, the kingdom is falling apart again." There were tears forming in his eyes. River walked towards his throne and he took off his crown. "I am not fit to be a king." He slowly put the crown on to the throne.

Marco stood there for a second with a rising feeling inside him. He slowly walked towards the former king. He stopped in front of him, River thought Marco was going to give him a lecture or just a friendly hug because he felt sorry for him. River opened up his arms and waited for a hug but the only thing he received was a punch to the face. Marco wasn't sorry for him and the rising feeling was the rage inside him. With the impact of the punch, River crashed into a pillar.
