Kayla and I continued to explore a little more of New York because we were only here for a couple more days and one of those days was New Years Eve. The only thing going through my mind was Harry's text about talking privately. I'm not going to lie, I was terrified to know what he was thinking. My thoughts about what he was thinking, were taking over my feelings about the whole situation. I have loved this boy for years, as a best friend and as more. It seems so cliche to hide my feelings about him just to protect our friendship, but I really couldn't imagine not having him as friend. I mean I did have to live with that feeling for a while and it broke me inside.

Around 5pm we made our way back to our hotel. We hadn't eaten dinner yet because we weren't sure what we would be doing while we were hanging out with the boys.

"What do you think will happen tonight?" Kayla asked me with concern in her eyes.

"I'm not sure. I hope for the best, but I fear the worst," I say with pain in my tone.

It seems so stupid to be so caught up in one kiss, but we're talking about kissing my best friend. Once we made it back to our room, Harry texted me.

~Texts from Harry~

H: You guys back your hotel yet?

M: Just got back, wbu?

H: We got back about an hour ago. You hungry?

M: Starving

H: Come on up. We can order room service.

M: Be up in 5

~End of messages~

"Kayla, let's head up to their room. Harry said they are going to order room service."

"Alright. You ready?" She said smiling at me as we went out the hotel room door.

"As I'll ever be," I said smiling back and sighing a little.

*At Harry's Suite*

I was nervous before we made our way to his suite, but now that we were standing in front of the door, my heart felt like it was ready to pop right out of chest. I felt Kayla watching me as my fist just lay still on the door ready to knock. She took my wrist and forced my fist to tap against the door. From the other side I heard a lot of scrambling around, with muffled voices.

The door opened and I was greeted by his emerald green eyes once again.

"Macey! Come on in. I do apologize for the wait. The boys and I were just looking over the menu so we could order," he moved to the side to let us in, "You must be Macey's friend, Kayla. So nice to finally meet you."

I watched as they shook hands and I saw how much Kayla wanted to swoon over how good looking he was. I smirk slightly, but it quickly wiped off my face as I bumped into Niall on accident.

"Whoa there lassy, you're Harry's girl. Don't want him getting the wrong idea," He said winking at me with his ocean blue eyes. I just laughed at him and saw Harry face palm at Niall's shenanigans.

About an hour went by and all the food we ordered arrived. We were all sat in a circle on the floor, with beers in our hands. If nobody knew who we were, they would have thought we had all been friends for at least a decade. Harry had his arm around me and my left leg was intertwined with his right leg. Kayla was to my right chatting up Louis. Niall was on his 5th beer and it was easy to see Liam was getting irritated. He acted like a total dad, it was funny to witness. As time passed and most of us were drunk off out butts, Harry leaned over and whispered in my ear, "Let's go into the other room so we can talk." I shivered slightly as his warm breath surrounded my ear and fell to my neck. God he was so attractive.

He stood up and helped me up. The drunks all made cheering sounds and whistles as we walked off into the other room. The one that surprised me as being drunk was Kayla. She was going wild, telling Louis stories of a life I had no idea she had. What a wild child. Harry opened the door to the room and allowed me to go ahead of him. Looking at the room, one would have assumed that he got it ready for whoever he wanted to win over, aka me.

I sat on the bed and ran my hand across the sheets, gripping them to calm me down. He was standing in front of me now and he let out a sigh.

"This hasn't been easy on me you know? Being away from you. Being away from home," He said looking down at his feet.

"Harry, it hurt me everyday when I didn't see you and that kiss...that kiss filled the absence in my heart that you put there when you left." I sounded more irritated than I had originally wanted to and he sensed my irritation. I guess I still had some pent up anger in me.

"I wanna open up to you like I once did when we were younger Harry, but I feel that if I do that, then you will just leave me again. I'm not meant to be apart of your life in this journey, I never was," I said as I looked down at my fidgeting hands. I felt him move closer to me. He got down on his knees in front of me and held my hands in his.

"You know as much as I love this lifestyle, I think I love you just a little bit more. I can't promise that I will always be around, Macey, but I can promise that I'm not going to run from us anymore." His large hand engulfed my cheek and suddenly he was mine all over again. He moved his lips closer to mine and his warm breath sent shivers down my spine. I was the ice that would always melt from his warmth. I was the one that allowed our lips to connect. His were incredibly soft against mine and this kiss clarified what I already knew...that was madly, deeply, in love with Harry Styles.
