It was Monday. I left Carson's house early Saturday morning before she woke up. I texted her later on that day and she never replied. I skated down the empty halls, to my locker. I was late to my first class and I didn't care.
"You." I hear a voice from down the hall.
I turn around and I see James walking toward me.
"Have you seen, Carson?"
I shake my head. "Nope. And how would I know that?"
James shrugs. "I'm worried about her."
I frown. "What do you mean?"
"You're her friend right? I can trust you, right?"
I look at him very weirdly and I nod. "Yeah, I guess."
James leans on the lockers and runs his fingers through her hair.
"On Friday night we were at the garden. Then she just left without any explanation."
"Yeah, seems weird."
"I tried calling her and texting her on Saturday and yesterday and she never answered." James sighed. "And she isn't at school today."
"Have you tried going to her house?"
James nods with a frown. "Of course I went to her house. Her parents said she was sick."
"Then thats maybe why she's avoiding you."
"She's a little difficult, isn't she?"
I laugh. "Yeah she is. That's the best part. It'll always be interesting for you."
James chuckles. "Sure."
He turns around and walks away. I quickly grab out my phone and I call Carson. She never answered. I called her multiple times. But, all those times it went straight to voicemail.
"If you get this, call me." I say before hanging up.
I get my books and I make my way to class.
