Writing helps us map our interior world. Part of laying track is letting ourselves imagine what directions we might like to lay it in. This tool helps you get a sense of your emotional geography. Take fifteen minutes and write, longhand, as fast as you can, about the kind of writing it would be fun to do.
The type of writing that I consider fun to do would be play writes. They have the potential to be transformed into real life stories that grasp you in a different type of way then just by reading. I like poems, poems are fun to write in the way they can be short or super long in it's description of feelings that it is trying to pass over with a mood or tone. I love long novels that leave you in the dark till the very end and that get you thinking about everything about you. These types of writing are ways that can physically or mentally change about one's person and I think that is the beauty of these writing because you are able to possibly change someone in so many ways of different perspectives on just the words alone. Being able to do so would be a change of my own character(s).
Tracking our brains process, to understand, where our story will go is a like mapping out a emotional geography of who you are. You give a little of yourself in everything you write and it is breathtaking to do so, to crack out that book and to see the words that were thought about deeply and loved is a loving sight to witness something as you read and understand the author's thought process makes you so inspired to do something—anything! So breathe and grab a piece of paper and map out your own emotional geography mess.
