Five knocks at the front door are what interrupted Jungkook's conversation with Yoongi. The two were sitting at the kitchen table, speaking about work and funny customers. At the sound of the knocks, the laughter died down, each of them waiting for the other to make a move.

"You get it," Yoongi told him.

"Why? You're the older one."

"Precisely why you need to get it."

Jungkook let out a huff before pushing his chair away from the table, trudging down the hallway. Before he opened the door he straightened up, trying to appear as unbothered as he could. The demeanour slipped away once he saw who was behind it.

"Erika?"

The girl gave a fake, exaggerated smile before her blank expression was back. "We need to talk. Do you mind if we chat somewhere privately, or maybe you could just close the door?"

"Uh, no not at all." Jungkook closed the door behind him as he stepped outside. "So—"

Before he could finish he was being shoved against the side of the house, an arm slamming the space to the left of his head. At this point, Jungkook was quite confused and completely taken off guard.

"Erika, wha—"

"Zip it cupcake, we've got business to discuss," Erika said lowly. With her right arm still caging him against the wall, she lifted her left hand and stuck her index finger into Jungkook's chest sharply. "I don't want to drag this out any longer than it has to be, so answer honestly."

Jungkook swallowed nervously, eyes wide and fearful. Erika was looking at him like she might tear his limbs off his body, one by one. Needless to say, he was willing to cooperate without resistance if it meant he could get out of this alive, so he nodded his head. Erika gave a tight-lipped smile and removed her finger from Jungkook's chest. Her right arm still caged Jungkook in, but at least she wasn't looming over him anymore.

"How do you feel about (Y/n)? Like, specifically, how deep are your feelings for her?" Erika questioned. "I need to know if there is any chance you might end up breaking her heart."

"I love her, please believe me when I say that. I will never hurt her, I only want to see her happy," Jungkook responded immediately.

Erika cocked an eyebrow. "How far would you go to keep her happy?"

"I would fly to the moon and back as many times as she wanted if that's what it took," Jungkook replied.

Erika stared into his eyes deeply for a moment before snickering, removing her right hand from the wall. Jungkook eyed her warily, wondering if this interrogation was actually over or if she was going to trick him.

"That's a pretty good one," Erika began. Her gaze sharpened and she grabbed a fistful of Jungkook's shirt, dragging him closer to her. "But you've got to step up your game. Because I would give her the moon if she wanted me to. So in that case, there would be no moon for you to fly to."

Jungkook furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, but before he could say anything Erika stepped away from him, giving him the personal space he so desired. She reached over to his shoulder—and as shameful as it was to admit, Jungkook couldn't help but flinch—to brush off imaginary dust, smiling at him more naturally.

"(Y/n) means a lot to me, so it's my duty as her best friend to determine whether her love interest is actually worth her time. You've got work to do, but you're off to a great start. I'll pass you since I'm feeling generous today," Erika said.

"Was it really that necessary to corner me?" Jungkook asked, feeling a little dizzy.

"Obviously. If I came over with a picnic basket and snacks you might not answer truthfully. If I instill fear though, it'll be easier to get what I want out of you," Erika said as if Jungkook should've known.
