*Isabella's P.O.V*

I cover my ears to muffle the noises of the fight. I curled into the ball on the small bed still able to hear the noises and vividly picture what the battle might look like. Kaden was not strong enough to battle the last time I saw him. It worried me that if I looked out the window I might see him dead. The noises got louder and louder. They were taunting and torturing me. It sounded like a lot of people were fighting besides Sam, Blair, and Kaden. It loud until an explosion sound broke out, then it was silent. I couldn't move. I was paralyzed. It felt like forever until a sound filled the air again.

Creeeek!

A faint sound of the basement door filled my ears. I uncovered them and look at the small light the the basement door cast as it was open. Then, there were footsteps. Sam said that the person who won would have access to the basement door to get me. He also said that this battle was to the death, so any two of the three could be dead. Tears filled my eyes as the footsteps got louder. Closer.

The moonlight shown on the mysterious figue to be...Kaden! He was covered and blood and looked exhausted, but the way the moon's light shown on his face made him look so exotic and otherworldly. He was beautiful.

He limped towards me falling to his knees with his head landing on my lap. I ran my fingers through his hair. We were silent, yet we understood each other. His blood flowed, but I was able to resist. Maybe it was because I was too overwhelm to care. Even as the blood ruined the white dress, I was to occupied by him. Finally, he broke the silence.

"You look beautiful in that dress. You're always beautiful. I was just too much of a jerk to tell you that."

"I'm sure you didn't only come here to tell how I'm beautiful and what a jerk you were." I gave a small smile to lighten the mood.

"You're right," He smirked, then quickly became serious. "I came to tell you that I love you before I go."

"Go? Where are you going?" I asked. With that question he held up what was left of the rose in his hand. I gasp. "You didn't..."

"I did. It was to stop her from controlling us. Now we're all free."

"But you're still..."

"An ugly beast?"

"I wasn't going to say that. You're amazing."

Footsteps came down the basement again revealing a battered Blair.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

Kaden stood up defensively in front of me.

"Relax, Bale. I'm not here to start a war. I'm here to thank you. You were right. That killing bullshit was stupid. Plus, my mom favored that asshole over me. Are we cool or what?" Blair held out his hands.

"We're cool." Kaden shook his hand.

"You know, you're lucky to have a girl like her. Don't be a fucking douche to her or I'll be right there to take her." He gave me wink and smiled.

I rolled my eyes and returned the smile.

He turned to leave, but Kaden stopped him.

"Where are you going? You're apart of our pack now." Kaden smiled.

Blair chuckled. "Oh, Bale. You didn't think I'd leave the pack that easy, did you? I'm going victory run. That asshole's finally dead." He gave one last smirk before went back up the steps again leaving me and Kaden alone again. Kaden went back to rest his head on my lap again and I cintinue the process by stroking his hair.

"I want my last breath to be a sigh of relief after hearing how much you were obsessed with me." He gave his famous smirk.

"You wish." I teased.

"I don't know if you know this, Bella, but my wishes always come true. I got you, didn't I?" Just as I was beginning to retort, his eyes began to flutter shut. I gasped and my vision began to blur with tears. "Hey, Bella. It's gonna be okay. Okay?"

"Okay."

It was silent. "Kaden? Kaden, please don't play around." But I knew deep in my very soul he wasn't. That's when the tears really began to flow. I held his lifeless body in my arms. I cried so loud that it must've brought my sister, Asher, my dad, and Kaden's dad down to the basement. They all had sad looks on their faces.

"Bella, I'm so sorry." Rose went to hug me.

"Come on, girls. We're leaving." My dad said.

"Dad, I can't leave Kaden."

"I want you all to stay away from my family." Alpha Bale said.

"I thought you said that you guys would stop fighting." Rose retorted.

"We aren't fighting. We are avoiding each other. Now let's go, girls." My dad said pulling me off the ground but I held on to Kaden's body.

"Dad, I'm staying and so is Bella. We both found our mates." Rose said holding on to Asher.

"Sir, I love Rose. I can't let her leave or I will go crazy possessive." Asher spoke up.

"Rose, you are not ready for this lifestyle. And Isabella no longer has a mate or was his mate in the first place. Let's go!" His voice boomed.

Rose hesitated, but Asher insisted she went. I couldn't let this happen.

"Dad, she's staying and so am I."

"No, you're not." Alpha Bale said frustrated. He began to pull Kaden's body from my grasp and my father pulled me in another direction. I held onto Kaden's hand.

"Isabella, let go!" My father yelled.

"No."

"Bella, just let go. Maybe dad is right. Maybe we're not ready for this lifestyle. " Rose said giving up hope.

"I won't let go of him."

"Why?"

"Because I love him!" I screamed.

The room froze and went silent. I still held his hand. Even when the pulling began to weaken.

"Because I love him," I repeated again. "I'm in love with Kaden. I only wish that I had the chance to tell him. I'm such an idiot. I let him go. I was to afraid to admit it. But I'm in love with Kaden and now this imperfectly perfect guy I cared so much about is gone. And it's all because of me. It's me. All my fault." I sank to my knees never letting go of his hands. I hadn't realized that my hands were now covered in his blood. I was able to control my bloodlust, but every other emotion was released.

Then, I felt it. My heart beating faster and my hand being held tight. I looked up to see Kaden not awake but breathing slowly. I pulled him to me.

"Kaden?"

His hands squeezed my hand tighter. Then, they loosened again and he stopped breathing again. I began to lose hope again until the scars and tattoos began to disappear from his skin. I pulled the hoodie off his head to find his dark brown tousled hair. His breathing returned at normal pace.

I studied him. Then, the dark brown eyes I came to fall in love with looked back into mine.
