Citrus: Blow Me Away

Surprise!

"Yuzu...Yuzu?" 

Yuzu woke up in a hurry. Sweat was pouring down her face like tears. She had another nightmare.

"Yuzu? Are you okay?" Mei asked the poor girl

"Huh? Oh, uh... yeah, I-I'm fine" She was lying.

"Are you sure? Did you have another nightmare?" Mei was onto her.

"I'm fine, trust me!" Yuzu begged for Mei to stop.

"Ok fine then.."

Yuzu had been having a reoccurring nightmare of some man with horns on his head chasing her through a black maze. At the end of it, she ran into a dead end. The man would slowly come up to her and then cry and turn into some sort of fallen angel. Then it ended.

"What time is it anyway?" She asked herself. She looked over at her clock. It read: 8:20. "Oh....shit.." she whispered to herself. In a hurry, she got up and nudged Mei. " Come on Mei! Wake up for god sake!" Mei looked up. "What?" She asked in her classic 'Bad Mood Voice'. Yuzu pointed at the clock angrily. Mei zoomed out of bed and into the bathroom. "Hey!" Yuzu called for her.

1 hour had passed, Yuzu was given a detention for being late, Mei managed to make it before school started. In class, Yuzu stared at the clock, counting the seconds until the bell rang. "5, 4, 3, 2, 1.." she counted. The teacher was stopped mid speech by the deafeningly loud bell. All the students in the room hurried out like predators chasing prey. In this case the prey was home. On the way home, Yuzu, Harumin, Mei and Momokino walked home. 

"Hey Yuzu, wanna come round mine later today?" Harumin asked Yuzu. "Sure, I have time today!" Yuzu responded. As soon as Mei heard that, her face turned from lively to sad and robotic. Yuzu had noticed this and held Mei's hand. "Sorry Harumin, but I just realised that I had homework to do today, sorry.." Yuzu said while looking at Mei. Mei had managed to get something of a smile out before Momokino interrupted. 

"Are you okay Mei? You didn't look happy when Harumin said that.." She questioned. "I'm fine" Mei responded. "Are you sure? I'm being serio-" Momokino tried to spit out before Mei reassured her "Please trust me, I'm fine." Mei pleaded. "Ok then..." Momokino sighed. The sisters said their goodbyes and walked home.

At home, Dinner had already been made for them. 

"There you go!" Ume said while setting down the fresh ramen soup. "Dinner is served!" 

After dinner, Yuzu and Mei sat down and switched on the TV and watched soap operas for a few hours. "Romeo, oh how I love you!" The girl on the TV said. "I love you too, Juliet" The man responded. Yuzu watched on, feeling a little hot as she watched the couple slowly begin to lock lips. Mei noticed this and chuckled softly. However, her smile disappeared when she heard shouting behind her.

"What? Oh my god! Yes! Wait what? What are you doing then? Bring him he-" Ume's voice was interrupted by Yuzu. "Uh, Mei? Hello? Earth to Mei!" Mei finally responded "Huh?". "Mei, you looked really stressed out just then, is everything okay?" Yuzu asked worryingly. "Yeah, just... Thinking about something.." Mei lied. She always lied. She had to, or else everything would go to shit. "Well, if you say so.." Yuzu shrugged it off.

Later, when they went to bed, Yuzu was fast asleep, but Mei was wide awake. She was thinking about that call. The urgency of Ume's voice shocked her. What had happened. "What's wrong Mei?" Yuzu grabbed Mei by her sleeve. Mei looked over to Yuzu. "Nothing, just go back to sleep." Mei tried not to look at her. Yuzu obeyed and fell back asleep. Mei glanced at Yuzu. 'How can someone like her love someone like me? We're polar opposites!' Mei thought. 'She's so pretty.. And I'm not anything pretty. God I just want to- no, Mei, control yourself, she's sleeping dammit. But.... A peck wouldn't mean anything would it?' Mei leaned into Yuzu's face. 'Just... Just one peck.' However, as she Inched closer....

BANG! BANG! 

Abruptly, the door was knocked on loudly. Yuzu woke up and Mei scooted away, focusing on the door. Yuzu ran out of the bedroom and into the hallway and, eventually, so did Mei. 

Ume immediately opened the door and there was Shō with... A boy?

Yuzu paused in her tracks. "Yuzu? Are you ok?" Mei asked, not sure what was going on. "That's the guy.." She whispered behind her breath. Mei was confused "Guy? What guy? Oh my god he's bleeding!" Yuzu's eyes widened

"That's the guy from my nightmares!"
