Justin POV:
I could sense bright light shining through my closed eyelids. My thoughts started to race with hundreds of questions:
Am I alive? Where am I? What happened?
I forced to open my eyelids but it if there were two heavy bricks over them. I felt a massive headache slowly beginning to increase, making it difficult to think. I want to move my hand, but I couldn't feel them, it felt like they were unattached from my body. My forehead felt sweaty, warm, and a soft, warm cloth wrapped tightly around it. All I can hear was beeping from a machine coming from next to me. Wait... I could detect another noise, quieter, and is in a very slow, steady beat... It sounds like... heavy breathing.
A few seconds later, voices filled the room. But these voices are not clear to hear. The buzzing in my ears interrupted my hearing. I tried to open my eyes again, and this time I could feel my eyelids beginning to flutter open. Everything was blurry for a few seconds, then my vision cleared. I looked around and saw that I was in a room with white walls and a large window, that had beige colored curtains hanging above it.
I glanced down at my body, noticing that I had tubes over some of the tattoos I have on my arm. I could see fluid flying through them to my arm. I'm at a hospital... But, why? At the corner of my eye, I saw a figure sitting at a chair beside the bed. I turned my head to see who it was. It was a boy, around my age, with dark brown hair, and light brown eyes.
The boy looked at me for a second, a smile formed across his tan face. "Oh, good, your wake." He stood up from the small, green chair; started towards the bed, putting his hand on my shoulder, patting it. "What happened to you man? The doctors wouldn't tell me what's up. Assholes... I got a call from your mom and I came here to see if you're alright. When I walked in, you looked fucking dead to me." He chuckled. I looked at him, confused.
"Do... Do I know you?" I asked, getting scared at the strange boy in my room.
The boy lets out a loud laugh. "Yea, you do know me, don't ask stupid." I shake my head.
"No, I don't know you." My throat went dry. The boy glares at me, giving me a dirty look.
"Don't fuck around with me Justin! You do know me! I'm your best friend, Jose!" The boy shouts, losing his temper.
Why won't he listen to me...I don't know him. His death glare was starting to scare me.
"I don't know you! I'm sorry, okay!? I don't know you!" I said louder, slower so he would understand. The monitor was beeping like crazy, my pulse increased like wildfire.
Then I heard someone running in the hallway, feet slamming against the ground. The slammed open and a woman came running in, her eyes filled with worry. "Is everything alright?" She asks in a worried tone. She steps in and looks at the boy and me.
"No! Nothing is alright! He is saying that he doesn't know me! He does! He does know me!" He stuck out his finger, pointing at me. "We've known each other for years!" The boy yelled loudly, making his voice echo throughout the small.
"I don't know you!" I yell back, getting more annoyed. Why won't he understand that I don't know him!
"I'm sorry but there is nothing I can do about that, sir. When he arrived there he was covered in blood and there were cuts all over him. And he had a terrible skull fracture. He hit his head really hard on the area where the prefrontal cortex is located, so caused him to lose some of his memories." The nurse explained. The boy shakes his head.
"Some? He forgot everything! You know what, fuck this! Fuck both of you!" He ran out of the room, bumping into the nurse. She glares at the back of his head once he disappeared, slamming the door shut very hard. She let out a sigh and turns her head to me.
