"Autumn Rose get your ass out of bed!" I hear my mom scream out side my bedroom door. I untangle my self from my purple blankets and pull my hair into a ponytail. First day of summer is finally here. I slid down the hall in my monkey and frog socks and round the corner into the kitchen. I pour frosted flakes into a bowl and grab a spoon. I throw myself onto the couch and turn on cartoons. Don't judge. There is no rule saying a 17 year old can't watch Curious George. I love that little monkey. My mom walks around the corner and grabs her keys.
"Behave. And make sure Nate takes his medicine." She kisses my forehead and walks out the door. Once the door shuts I hear another door slam. My little brother walks into the living room and grabs the PS4 remote off the charger. He takes his fingers through his dirty blonde hair.
"What the hell are you staring at?"
"Oh, I don't know maybe the blonde hairy beast that's supposed to be my brother." He.shoves me and I fall off the couch.
"Well now you can stare at the floor."
"Asshole." I flick his ear and shove him back.
"Damn right!" He shouts at me as I get up. For and 11 year old he can be a total ass even when he takes his meds.
"Nathan! Don't forget to take your meds!"
"Fuck you!" Yup this is my life. I walk outside to see a moving truck next to us. Well shit. We just moved into our house not to damn long ago and we're already getting new neighbors. I jumped into the bed of my best friends truck and layed down. I close my eyes for about twenty minuyes when someone knocks on the tail gait of the truck causing me to jump. I heard someone chuckle. I sat up and saw a dark haired boy leaning on the now open tail gait.
"May I help you?"
"Oh someones grumpy." I let the voice register in my head.
"Asher! What the hell are you doing here!?"
"What I can't come visit my best friend?" I jumped into his open arms. I breathed in his minty sent. "Damn I missed you." He mumbled into my shoulder. I pulled away and looked at him. Shaggy brown hair, muscles bulging out through his shirt.
"What?" I smiled and jumped back in the truck.
"How many times have you came out here and stayed in my truck?"
"Honestly I have no idea. Hell you've been gone for so long. I don't even remember the last time I rode in this damn thing." Asher left for almost 5 months because his brother had died. I would've gone but I had school. He left his truck at my house so when he got back he wouldn't have to get it back from his dad.
"Well, you wanna go for a ride?"
"Yeah let me get shorts and tell Nate." I ran inside and put my favorite pair of cutoffs on.
"Nathan I'm leaving with Asher for a little bit okay."
"Whatever." I ran out the door and jumped into the passenger seat while Asher turned her on. He pulled out of my driveway and sped down the street.

Asher pulls into Pizza hut parking lot and gets out.
"What are we doing here?"
"I owe you a pizza."
"You do?"
"Yup." We walk in and order a cheese pizza and grab a pepsi. On our way back to my house he grabbed my hand and laced our fingers together.
"Asher? What are you doing?"
"What?" I pulled my hand out if his hand and told him to pull over. He pulled over and I got out of the truck and jumped in the bed.
"You can drive now."
"Autumn get back up here."
"No, I think I'm good."
"Dammit Rose I'm sorry. Just please just get back in the truck."
"No Asher you know that I just broke with Dylan. I'm not ready for another relationship!" I jumped out of the bed and walked started to walk home.
"Rose get back in the damn truck!"
"No!" I put my headphones in my ears and keep walking. Strong arms wrap around my waist.
"Asher let me go!" He tosses me into the passenger seat.
"No." He starts the truck and drives towards my house, again.
"I hate you."
"Love you too Rose." The rest of the ride I refused to talk to him. Right before he turns the corner I open my door and jump out. I run to my house, open the door, slam the door and lock it. Not even five seconds later my phone is blowing up.
"What do you want?"
"Look Rose I said I was sorry."
"Well you should've thought before you acted."
"Autumn just let me inside. Plus your new neighbor is standing out side."
