Lily Cross is the invisible type of girl at school. She wears baggy clothes and hides her face with glasses because she wants to stay invisible and not have anyone notice her. She hates drama and tries to avoid it and get into a good college, but afterschool and on the weekends, she dresses like she just stepped out of Vouge. Taylor Levin is the popular, good looking, rich jock at his school and has no idea of Lily’s existence whatsoever.
But he just happens to fall in love with the beautiful girl whose dog escaped into his back yard who is well- afterschool-Lily. She just blurts out her new identity which she herself had never known about until that very moment, and from then on, he knows her as Jade. As they hang out more, he begins to fall in love with her, and she changes him in a way he never imagined anyone could. He began to actually pay attention to the people around him except form his usual popular group of friends and begins noticing strange things like how Lily Cross and Jade looks almost alike without Lily’s glasses.
Will he find about her secret? Will he stay in love?

“Shadow! Stop it!” I gasp as my German Shepherd dog flailed in my arms as I tried to give him a bath. Bubbles flew everywhere as he tried to chase after my sister’s Pomeranian, Tusk. That tiny ball of fur was indeed cute, but for some reason, Shadow was extremely hyper when he was around him. I really don’t know if he was going to cuddle with him, or eat him and then spit of the fur. (Which to me, it looked like it took up about 80%)
I held him down firmly. Shadow barked, looking up at me with a sad expression. I softened at the sight of my dog. He had been with me ever since he was a puppy, but I still couldn’t resist these expressions. At the very moment I slightly let go, he bolted out of my grasp and headed straight for Tusk. Carrie, my sister thankfully got to him before he did and looked at Tusk disapprovingly. He lowered his gaze and put his head between his paws. She smile and bent down to pet him.
“Need any help?” she called, opening the door to our house to let Tusk run free and closed the door before Shadow could get in.
“Um, yeah! Could you get the tub?” I called. She shook her head at me.
“Why would you wash me without it?” she said, glaring at me. I smiled sheepishly. She opened the gate to get it outside.
“It’s really heavy to tip out, plus mom would be really mad to see the grass all muddy, so I figured I could give him a quick bath without it.” I bit my lip. It did seem like a genius plan at the time. Key words: at the time.
Before she could exit the gate, Shadow bolted out again and ran after the scared squirrel that was currently running for its life across the sidewalk. Bubbles flew after Shadow, some even still clinging onto his fur.
“SHADOW!” I screamed, running after him. He had gotten me wet at his little ‘bath’, so I was slightly wet. It didn’t matter that he had gotten my white strapless bikini top wet, but the light blue denim shorts I got from Abercrombie and Fitch was seriously weighing me down.
He barked back at me and took a turn to the left.
“Stop! No no no no! Shadow!” I yelled, chasing after him. That was where the wealthiest houses were. If he somehow damaged some of their property, well, let’s just say I would be working my butt off in the summer because we all know my parents were not going to pay for it.
