"Oooooh," everyone said. I was having a sleepover party and had invited 15 or so of my friends over. It was only 3 pm-ish and we were playing 7 Minutes In Heaven, and I had drawn Adam...my boyfriends best friend. This will be soooo awkward, I thought. The way we played it was pretty simple:draw a name from a bowl, go in the closet, lock the door, and anything you do cannot be told to ANYONE. So here I am, going into the closet with Adam.

"So...what do you wanna do?" he asked me once we were in.

"I don't know...everyone is probably asking Liam a million questions." I answered, thinking about my boyfriend, waiting for me to finish up my 7 minutes. Wait, I think. Our 7 minutes. Mine and Adam's. We laughed, and the tension broke a little.

Then, he broke the silence.

"You know, Giselle, I've always been jealous of Liam ever since you asked him out. I guess you drawing my name was a stroke of luck, huh?"

"I...uh...I don't know what to say..." And I really didn't. I didn't think he was gonna say this; I thought we would just joke around a bit and then the 7 minutes would go by. But, obviously not.

He started to push me gently towards the wall. I tried to push him away, thinking about how hurt Liam would feel, but I was completely frozen. I closed my eyes, wishing it for it all to be just a dream, but the guilt I feel when our lips touch tells me otherwise.

I don't really have a clear idea of what happened next. All I remember is Adam lightly pushing me out of the closet, Liam about to draw a name outta the bowl, and then everything goes completely black. I can still feel Adam catching me before I split my head open, and Liam carrying me up to my bedroom. The tension of worry is strong; Liam has to tell everybody a couple of times before the room is empty except for the two of us. Liam tucks me in, and holds my hand tightly until I wake up.

"Giselle!" he exclaims, clearly happy to see me up. I smile weakly. "Are you okay?" he asks. I look around but I'm confused. What happened?? I retrace my steps. Party. 7 Minutes In Heaven. Drawing Adams' name. Closet. Kiss. Blacking out. Wait, I think. KISS!? "What's going on?" I ask Liam. "And, um, I think I need to talk to you about something."I'm still waking up, so Liam gives me a minute before talking.

"Well, let's see. You drew Adams' card and went into the closet. And then you come out 7 minutes later looking pretty dazed and then you fainted. What happened in there?"

I process that through my head for a while, but Liam takes it for hesitation. "Oh, yeah, never mind. Sorry." he says in a rush.

I don't know how to tell him. I mean, it's not everyday your boyfriend's best friend kisses you. I am overwhelmed by all of this, so I just blurt out, "He kissed me."

Liam looks surprised and betrayed. I start feeling bad. "I'm sorry, Liam, I know I should've pushed him away, but I was just-" He interrupts me and says, "No, no, it's not your fault; I know you'd never do anything like that. It's okay."

But deep, down inside of me, I know it's not. I know it hurts him a lot. Then, a questions pops into my head.

"Liam?" I ask.

"Yeah?"

"Can I ask you a question?" My voice squeaks. I hate seeing him so hurt.

"Yeah, anything."

"Um, do you think you and Adam are still gonna be friends?"

He thought about this for a minute before answering. "Well, yes because I can't control his feelings, but it won't ever be the same...and I don't think he knows that you told me, sooo..."We lied down on the bed for a bit, our hands entwined, when someone barges into the room. We both sit up, alarmed.

"GISELLE!! Are you alri-" The voice belonged to my best friend, Hadley. "Ummm, I'll give y'all some room, but everyone is worried. I put on a movie, but it's clear no one is really paying attention. There's only, like, 20 minutes left, so chop chop." And with that, she left the room.

I layed my head down on his shoulder, my heart feeling heavy. I know I would feel terrible if one of my friends did what Adam had done.

"Giselle?" Liam asks me. "Do you think we could forget all this?"

I'm silent, thinking, but I give him the answer he wants. "Of course."

But we both know the truth; neither of us will be able to erase this from our minds.

Then, Adam comes into the room, breaking the silence.

"Um, Giselle, I'm really sorry for what happened in there. It was a dare, but I shouldn't have done it." His voice trailed off, leaving me to reply.

"Whoa, whoa, wait," Liam says before me. "It was a DARE!? WHO GAVE YOU THE DARE!?" He yells out. I try to calm him down.

"Liam, Liam, it's okay." But what I really thought was, Oh no... Liam rarely gets mad and when he does, he will do whatever. I'm the only one who can calm him down, but this time it doesn't work.

"E-Ethan did." Adam stammers out. He slowly backs out of the room.

Liam looks red now, and it's kinda scaring me. I have never seen him this angry before. My eyes start to water, tears threatening to spill. Ethan? I think. He's one of Liams' friends, supposedly. He had tried to asked me out once, while I was with Liam, and I can't help but wonder if this is what it's all about.

A tear drops down. This night has been a whole lot. Liams' anger immediately goes down a couple notches when he sees me.

"Oh,Giselle, don't cry, please don't cry." he says. "I'll calm down, I'm sorry. Why don't you go to sleep and I'll get the others to go to bed, too, okay? I'll be back in a jiffy." He leaves after tucking me in, making me promise to try to fall asleep, and kissing me on the forehead.

I fall asleep, but after a few hours. I wake up again. I check the time on my phone. 1:55 am. Liam is sound asleep beside me, but he keeps stirring in his sleep.

"No...no...don't please...I'll do anything...let me switch with her...please..." he murmurs quietly. He starts to thrash around now.

"NO! NO! LET ME GO! PLEASE! GISELLE, NO!" he screams. I wake him up. I didn't want to see him like this.

"Giselle?" he says. "You're alive?"

I was confused. "Um, yes? Are you okay? You were yelling and almost fell off the bed."

"Uh, I...it was just a bad dream, that's all. Go back to sleep, Giselle, it's 2 in the morning." he answered.

I layed there, trying to go to sleep, but I just couldn't. "Liam, do you want to talk about it? Sometimes it helps." I offer.

"Alright," he sighed. He explained his dream, how I was kidnapped and abused, and all he could do was sit there and watch. Then, he said in the dream, he had closed his eyes and suddenly heard the gunshot, and I had woke him up.

"Oh, Liam..." is all I can say.

A tear slips outta his eye and I wipe it away. "It's okay, i'm right here. And even if I did die,-"

He cuts me short. "Shhhh, don't say that."

I continue anyway. "-I will always be with you. Right in here." I point to his heart.

"I love you." he whispers.

"I love you, too, Liam. Now go to sleep, nothing will happen if you're with me."

I cuddle up next to him. "Yeah." I hear him mutter, right before we both fall asleep.
