Chapter Two

Bethel and Austin went to their first class on the east side of the school, while Kirana and Landon had study hall in the southwest wing. As soon as the twins were out of sight, Austin slid his hand into Bethel's, his hand interlocking with her fingers as their arms swung back and forth.

Science class was their favorite class since it was the only one where Kirana and Landon weren't tagging along.

Austin looked around to make sure no one they knew was around and let go of Bethel's hand and wrapped his arm around her small frame, which was significantly short than he was.

Austin smiled at his girlfriend and pushed up his glasses which fell off his nose bridge when he looked down at her. His face went back to its normal position when he noticed a girl with a pastel pink bob staring right at them. As soon as the girl made eye contact, she turned her face away and pretended to grab something from her locker.

The girl shortly left Austin's mind when Bethel suddenly kissed him and told him that she forgot she had to drop off her portfolio to be graded in the art room. He smiled weakly at her and turned back to find the girl with the pastel pink hair, only to realise she wasn't there.

"Weird..." he said in utter confusion. He turned his head and walked towards the classroom where he ignored everyone. Girls came up to him asking him about his glasses, various comments surged about how he was attractive and he just rolled his eyes and stayed silent.

He was indeed attractive. Every aspect of his appearance screamed perfection. He was of a muscular build, so he constantly heard girls talking about it. He often was referred to as "Thunder Thighs", a nickname he understood yet very much disliked.

He normally always wore long sleeve shirts to hide his arms, which were covered in tattoos. Today however he had his sleeves rolled up, entirely exposing his tattooed forearms and complimenting his muscular biceps.

He shut the girls out of his head until suddenly he felt a small hand lay on his shoulder from behind which he grabbed and threw off. "Don't touch me," he growled. "I hate being touched."

He turned around and saw the girl, the girl in the hallway. "Don't be like that, we're friends!" she giggled and smiled. "I need to talk to you, can we talk outside?"

Austin was confused as to who this girl was, but he slightly nodded and followed the girl into the now almost empty hallway, hoping to find out. "What do you want?" He pondered.

"I want to be apart of your friend group. Let me join," asked the mysterious girl. "You all seem so cool."

Austin looked at her with disgust, however his face did not show it enough for her to notice. "Why? It's not like we're popular or anything." he said crossing his arms and peering down at the girl.

The girl noticed the tattoos which covered his arms, noticing there was a tiny B, which he probably got because of Bethel, but she didn't say anything about it though.

"I just want to be friends with you guys, is it that much to ask?" said the girl with the pastel pink hair, whose name was still unknown to Austin.

Austin stood still for a few seconds when he looked up at the girl and said, "Fine, I'll bring you to our table to lunch, but what's your name so I can present you to them?"

"Lillian, but I prefer to be called Lilly."

"Alright Lilly, meet me near the library right before lunch, I'll introduce you to the group then, now let's go back to class." Austin said, lifting his hand to guide Lilly back to the classroom.

Lilly quickly turned around and walked quickly back to the classroom and sunk deeply into her seat, followed by Austin and Bethel, who had followed them in.

Class begun as usual, however Bethel noticed an unfamiliar pair of eyes on her while she was giving the announcements. She noticed a girl with pastel pink hair, a girl she knew she's seen before but just couldn't recall from where.

Bethel turned to the teacher and nodded at him "Well, that's all the announcements for today, any questions?"

The strange girl's hand rose up. "Lillian? You had a question?"

"Yes sir. I wanted to ask when our projects are due."

"They're to be presented by the end of the period on Friday," interrupted Bethel, who had already finished the project. " The models and research report are due on Wednesday."

The girl nodded to acknowledge the comment and sunk back under her desk, where she was clearly doing something other than classwork.

Bethel wondered who the mystery girl was and why her boyfriend was talking to her. She wanted to know what was more important to the girl that she wouldn't be working on her classwork. Bethel didn't have the answers, though she hoped someday she will.
