It was December 17.

Jaehyun and Soomi aren't dating yet, but they've gone out as just the two of them more than once.

The boys have been supportive and Soomi's friendship with Younghoon was slowly building back up.

So was her friendship with Yuna.

Tonight was the night of their Christmas Ball, and the two girls were in Soomi's house, preparing for the night.

"Soomi, you look amazing." Yuna complimented.

"You do too." Soomi smiled.

Soomi was wearing an elegant, deep blue dress, while Yuna was wearing a white one. Their makeup was both natural.

There were knocks on the door.

"Soomi?" Soomi's sister called, "the guys are downstairs. They're ready."

"Alright, thank you!" Soomi replied before facing Yuna again.

"I'm so nervous." She laughed.

"I am too."

When they mustered up the courage, they left Soomi's room and headed downstairs, Yuna going down before Soomi did.

Younghoon's eyes widened seeing his date and Yuna smiled sweetly.

Jaehyun on the other hand, was loud and expressive. Soomi just laughed at her date's reaction.

"Alright, picture!" Soomi's mom chirped and the four of them posed.

Yuna and I left the area for the photo booth after taking our picture. We headed to where the boys were and stood beside our dates.

A slow song started to play and Younghoon immediately dragged Yuna to the dance floor. I giggled as she playfully rolled her eyes at me at his antics.

After a while, Jaehyun asked me if I wanted to dance as well and I said yes. He led me to the center and we started to sway to the music.

He chuckled lightly before speaking.

"This is ironic, isn't it?"

I tilted my head slightly, not fully understanding what he was saying.

"Their theme is a winter theme... and here I am, being warm to you." He continued.

A smile formed on my face as I nodded, agreeing that it was ironic.

"But I'm glad you were." I spoke up. "I guess I know now never to make you mad."

He laughed lightly and I felt his grip on my waist tighten.

"I love you, Soomi."

My heartbeat sped up and I felt weight on my shoulders leave.

The way he said it felt so genuine and as I looked into his eyes, I could see that he really wasn't lying.

"I love you too, Jaehyun."

He pulled me in and I rested my head on his chest, but before too long, he tilted my chin up.

"May I?" He asked gently.

I nodded.

It was all he needed to bring his lips down to mine.
