Adam and I walk into the bar. We're both wearing our Viper leather jackets, so if someone's new here they'll know who we are. Or they won't and later after we've beat them to death they'll wish they knew who we were before they saw us coming. It's happened before.
We sit down at a table and drink our drinks, even though we're underaged. It's okay though. Who's going to stop me? My dad? Nah.
"So, you punched a girl at school yesterday?" Adam asks and I turn my eyes away from the window to look at him.
"Yep. She was being a bitch so I punched her." I explain simply.
"But you're not supposed to do those things at school." He reminds me.
"You know, that's kinda bullshit." I blurt out. Why can't I? Why should I have to hide who I am just to protect my life and my family's lives?
"Well, if people knew who you were you could be in big trouble. Not just you, the whole team, and your dad will be in big trouble."
"Calm down. It was one punch." I roll my eyes, waving my hand.
"Yeah. One punch gets you suspended. Suspension gets your dad pissed. Your dad pissed means bad news."
"I'm not scared of my dad," I chuckle, being my glass to my lips.
"Yeah, well, other people are."
"I don't care." Adam rolls his eyes.
"You never care," he grumbles and I shrug.
"Is this news to you?" Adam sighs, then looks down at his watch.
"I should go. Bye." He rises to his feet and walks through the doors. I watch him walk to his blue Mustang and drive off.
"Bye." I sigh. That was delayed.
The next day.
When I hop off the bus I notice only our bus is here. Are we late for school?
"Hey you!" I hear a deep voice shout from behind me. "Hello!" It seems to grow closer. "Hey girl! Girl with the glasses!" The person shouts again.
Maybe they're talking to me.
I turn my head and see Carlos. Ew. I roll my eyes and keep walking. "Hey! I know you know I'm talking to you." He affirms, coming up to me.
"Yeah. But why are you talking to me?" I question, walking as he walks beside me.
"What's your name?" He asks. I raise a brow, wondering why he wants to know.
"Sadie. Sadie Bane." For some reason I smirk. I guess I just like the sound of my name.
"Im Carlos Colby." He announces proudly.
"Great." I smile. "Why are you talking to me?"
"You punched Clara the other day," he reminds me.
"Yes. Would you like me to punch you too?" I ask with a smile.
"No."
"Then leave me alone." I grumble, walking faster.
"Wait." He calls out, catching up to me.
"What?" I groan and abruptly stop walking, making him bump into my back. He quickly takes a step back.
"Can you meet me at the library during lunch?" He asks.
"Why?"
"Umm... I want you to meet my friends." He shrugs.
Yeah, meet your friends while they beat me up. Or try to.
"Why the library?"
"Because..." He looks around. "It's quiet?" He says this more as a question than an answer.
"Yes. The library is quite." I answer his question.
"Yeah. So will you?" I think for a minute then shrug. Without another word, I turn and walk away, leaving him there.
"Is that a yes or a no?" He shouts behind me.
"You'll see!" I shout over my shoulder.
