Chapter 10

Amethyst P.O.V.

My alarm went off and I just layed there and listened to it . After scolding my brother for not answering his phone and crying myself to sleep, I was tired . I didnt want to get up and see anyone . Especially not Chresanto . I finally got up and went to get ready .

I looked in the mirror and looked terrible . After my shower I put my hair in a bun, threw on a pair of sweatpants, and a long sleeve and slung my backpack over my shoulder . I walked by my brothers room and didnt even bother to wake him up or tell him I was leaving and loved him .

I got out the car and dragged myself around and finally arrived at my locker . Jhordyn came and looked at me with empathy in her eyes .

"Baby Im so sorry about your dad . I loved him like he was my dad too . I got you if you need me for anything chicka . Now give me sone lovee ."

She gave me a tight comforting hug that lifted my spirits just enough to get through the rest of the day . I noticed I started to cry and blinked the tears out of my eyes . She walked me to the bathroom .

She hugged me and repeated that it was okay over and over .

I sniffled and cleaned up my face . "I think Im okay . Thank you Jho Jho . I swear I wouldnt know what I would do without you ."

"I know girl . I know . Now we gotta go before we are late ."

Throughout the whole day . Whenever Chresanto saw me he stared at me . He wouldnt talk to me but just stare and then walk away . I brushed it off and continued to get through the rest of the day without breaking down . I still had practice and I had to go in for a job interview .

I walked in the house and dropped my bag . I put my back against the wall and sat down . I heard sniffling and looked up to see my mom sitting on the couch with my aunt . Seeing her cry tugged at my heart but also sparked some anger that she wasnt here .

I think she could read my mind because she just blurted out how sorry she was and how much she needed to forgive me and even was bringing my brother home just for me .

My brother Cyrus followed in my dads footsteps and joined the armed forces . My brother was stationed halfway across the world with his son and wife . He graduated from Annapolis and I havent seen him for almost 5 years . My brother was my bestfriend and when he left I was hurt because he was there for me when my parents werent .

There was a knock at the door and we all looked up . I got up to answer the door and it was Chresanto . I looked at my mom and closed the door behind me . I looked at him, confused and he just kissed me and for a moment I didnt move . I couldnt . I pulled away and just stared at him . I couldnt say anything and if I could I wouldnt know what to say . I was still contemplating on if Chresanto actaually just kissed me . It felt real, I saw him lean in . So it must have been .

"Look Amethyst . Im sorry I had to do this right after your dad passed but I cant do it anymore . I cant see myself without you . I hate to see you cry and be upset and I wanna be the one to make you smile again . I want to hold you and tell you everything I love about you . I want to kiss you and give you piggy back rides . I want to have late night phone calls and go out on dates . I want to hold your hand and I want to be yours . I tried pushing my feelings away for you for a long time and they are stronger than me now and I cant get rid of them Amethyst ."

I just stood there in shock . Is this really Chresanto ? I blinked a couple of times just to check again . I still stood there and couldnt force myself to respond to him . He just stared at me, waiting for an answer that could break his heart or make him one of the happiest boys on earth .

But no . I couldnt do that right now . Everything is going good . Im getting a job . Im captain of the volleyball team . Im maintaing a 3.9 GPA . A boy would just come and mess that up wouldnt he ? Or would he better me ?

"Chr-Chresanto . I need to think . Alot is going on-"

He cut me off and his jaw tightened . "Its fine . Ill see you later ." He then looked at me one last time with a hurt but angry expression and stuffed his hands in his pocket and walked away . Leaving me there in my thoughts .
