Like father like son

Barry's POV

I slammed my locker then started walking down the hallway towards the exit door. I didn't know why I was still at school and why the hall we're empty
"Barry," I heard someone shout from down the hallway.
I looked behind  to see my best friend and neighbor Zachary running to catch up to me.
"Hey bar," he said initiating our secret handshake
"Hey Zach," I said still holding onto his hand after the last step if our handshake.
I don't know why but Zachary makes me feel something, Everytime I'm around him my body produces an abnormal amount of sweat, my heart speeds up, and my words all combine into on sentence.
This all just started a year ago he didn't seem phased by it he probably just thought I was going to an akward phase but really I liked him a lot.
"So I got this new game zombie Hunter 2 and if you don't have any plans for today you can come over and we can play together," he said
"Sounds great," I said
Next thing you know I was in his room watching him play his game. I just starred at the TV until it flashed game over
"Dang almost beat it," Zach said
"Yeah," I said still looking at the TV
Zach was quiet I looked over to him to see her was examining me.
"So what's been up with you," He asked
"What do you mean," I said confused
"You barely make eye contact with me and when you do you quickly look away, did I do something," he asked
"No, it's not like that l," I quickly said
"Then what is it," he said
"I like you," I blurted
"Oh," he said
"I need to go," I said heading for the door
Zach grabbed my arm and pulled me close
"Wait I don't care if you like me your my best friend," he said
I was relived by him saying that but then I noticed that space in between us. His face was not even an inch apart I could feel his breath and our eyes were staring into each other souls. He leaned in closing the pace in between us.
I jolted up drenched in sweat and my heart racing.
It was a dream just a dream.
I looked around the living room the only thing lighting it up was the TV I looked over at my sister sleeping on the other couch. I laid back down. This wasn't a first time experience these dreams were recurring torturing me with the thoughts and feeling I always try and push away and bury.  I didn't want to be like this. I tried liking girls I did from looking up ways to turn straight and even tried kissing a girl, nothing no arrousal. I laid back down u couldn't go back to sleep I was wide awake staring at the ceiling with the vivid dream still fresh in my head. I just laid there for hours until the sun rose.
I got up and went into the kitchen to find something to occupy me from thinking about my dream. As I was about to get some cereal Marty came into the kitchen.
"Hey kid," Marty said opening the fridge.
"Hey Marty," I said
"Your up early couldn't sleep," he said
"Kinda," I said pouring my milk into a bowl.
"Oh well I'm going to hit the weights,"Marty said walking towards the excercis room.
"Barry why are you up," Diamond said sitting at the table
"Zach dream," I said
"Oh again," She said
"Yeah," I said pouring the cereal on top of the milk
"That is why I don't eat cereal with you," Diamond said
"What this is totally normal so the milk dosent splash off the cereal and make a mess," Barry said
"I'm with Diamond on this one," said Buffy coming into the kitchen
"Thank you," Diamond said
"Whatever normie," I said teasing her
"I know you are but what am I," Diamond responded.
"An idiot," I said
"Your mom," she countered
"We have the same mom dodo brains," I said
"Both of you need to come up with better insults you sound like me and Marty and middle school," Buffy said
"So what are you finna do," I said
"I'm about to go running you two want to come," Buffy said
"I'm good I'm not the excercis type plus I need to facetime Jenna," Diamond said heading towards the living room.
"I'm up for a little morning jog," I said
"Alright after you finish your cereal we'll go," Buffy said sitting on the couch
I ate my cereal thinking about the whole cereal debate. Wehn I finished I put my bowl in the sink and walked into the guest room to get my running clothes. After getting my clothes on I went in the living room.
"You ready," Buffy said getting up
"Yeah let's go," I said
We walked outside and stopped at the driveway.
"So what's the plan," I said
"Well I just do 10 laps around the block," Buffy said fixing her socks
"You sure you can keep up," I said
"Trust me if you run anything like your dad I won't break a sweat," Buffy said
"Trust me I got 3rd place in my middle school track and field team," I bragged
"Oh you run track and field I got first in regionals and 5th in state," Buffy said
"Yeah when was that a century ago," I said egging her on.
"I'm only 24 years old," Buffy said offended
"Sure is that a white hair I see," I joked
"Oh it's on now," Buffy said getting ready
"My dad did name me after the fastest man on Earth," I said
"Ok let's see, you do the countdown," Buffy said
"Okay. 1.....2.....," I started running on 2 leaving Buffy behind
"Hey," Buffy said catching up with me
I was ahead at first but before I knew it Buffy rushed ahead I felt the wind as she passsed by me.
I spent the whole time at least trying to be an arm length behind her, but she was running with a purpose.
On the 8th lap I was too tired to continue and sat down on the curb. A few seconds later Buffy came by and stopped
"Taking a break I see," she said
I shook my head too out of breath to speak
"Ok I'll take one too," Buffy said sitting next to Barry.
"And again Barry thank you for helping me propose to Marty," Buffy said
"No biggie," I said finally catching my breath
"Maybe I can help you with that Sarah girl you have heart eyes for," Buffy said
The memory of yesterday conversation about my crush flashed back into my head.
"Yeah about that I made her up," I said
"Oh well then who do you like," Buddy asked
I shouldn't tell her or maybe I should. Buffy seemed like someone I could trust I've know her since I was little. In gonna do it. Here goes nothing.
"His name is Zachary," I said with every word still seeming like it echoed and I was still hearing it. A great fear arose out of me. She was the first person I told. Diamond had firgured it out already
"Oh wow," Buffy said with a smile
"What," I said confused
"Nothing it's just deja Vu," Buffy said
"Did one of your friends have the same problem," I said
"Barry this is not a problem, nothing is wrong with you, your still the Barry I know and I still love you unconditionally no matter who you are," Buffy said with her hand on my shoulder
I felt a huge weight lifted off of me with that one paragraph she said. I have tears threatening to leave my eyes.
"Thanks ," I told Buffy.
"So tell me about him," Buffy said
"What can I say he is perfection in every way, he's a athletic gamer who has the body of a jock, he dosent have a six pack yet but he is sure starting to get one," I said daydreaming about Zach
"When did you start catching feeling for Zach," Buffy asked intrigued in my story
"He's just so nice to me, when mom and dad had to work nights he would come to my house and stay with me showing me comics and telling jokes, when I sucked at basketball he hug with me during recess for a whole week teaching me tips and pointers on basketball and when he was selected team captain he always picked me first, and he always checks on me he knows me almost better than diamond he can tell when i'm having a bad day or even when I'm fake smiling and always does something about it," I told
"Wow he sounds awesome," Buffy said
"Yeah he is," I said
"Do you plan on telling him," Buffy asked
"Yeah I just need time," I said
"Take your time and only when your ready," Buffy explained.
I nodded my head in approval of buffy's good advice
"Well we should walk home your parents are probably awake," Buffy said getting up
"Yeah," I said getting up with her and started walking.
When we got inside everyone was awake and Diamond was still talking to Jenna on face time
"Hey Barry," dad said sitting on the couch watching metube
"Hey Dad," I said
"So you and Buffy went running," dad said
"Yeah and he lost," Buffy said bragging
"Like father like son," dad said.
"Hey Barry Zach texted you," Diamond said
"Oh Zachary Simpson is so hot I might ask him out," Jenna said through the phone
"Aren't you and Tom going out," Diamond said
"To be honest I don't even know," Jenna said
I walker over to my phone to see the text from Zach

Hey you still in Utah
-Zach attack

I quickly opened it up and started texting him

Yeah
-me
I texted back

Oh I was going to see if you wanted to go swimming
-Zach attack
Woah I missed a chance to see Zach shirtless

Yeah I'll be here for another week
-me

Alright I'll call you after the beach
-zach attack

Ok talk with you later

Wow i fall for him more and more everyday.

"I've never seen you smile for that long." Dad said.
"Yeah Zach sent me a funny video," I said
"Oh can I see," Dad said
"Oh you can't it's in snaptext it got deleted," I responded
"Oh," he said
I turned to see Buffy smirking at my response.

Does anyone know when Jonah shoe thing is going to be used. Like he said it during the pilot but that was the only time and it seems like something that would be brought up.
