"Breakfast is ready!" My mom shouted from downstairs.
"Uggrh," I growled out as getting out of bed. You're probably wondering why I, a 19-year-old, is still living in her parents' house well our family was always living in poverty; always had issues with money. You see there are only three things that truly matter: family, money, and religion.
"Coming," I yelled back at her.
I got up out of bed alerted knowing I have a big day ahead of me. I'm going out job searching so I'm going for an "I'm not a lazy person" attire. I walk out of my bedroom and into to the bathroom to get ready for the long day ahead of me. I'm in the shower when I hear my phone ding.
Katie: Hey. You still up to go out later?
Me: Yeah but can you take me out I'm trying to search for a job.
Katie: Yeah sure anything just name it! I know a few places that you might be able to get an application form.
Me: Great! Can you pick me in a half an hour?
Katie: Sure see you there.
I put my phone back and finish up my shower. I step out and grab a towel while sitting on the edge of the tub to start doing my makeup. I'm not wanting to do light but not a full look.
After getting ready I head out of the bathroom only to almost being knocked over by my 7-year-old sister Lizzie and my 16-year-old brother Peter running through the hallway.
"Hey! Watch It!" I yell out to them as I walk off towards the stairs that lead to downstairs.
"Sorry!"
"Hi momma," I say as I walk up to my mom and kiss her on top of her head.
"Hi, baby. How'd you sleep?" She asked me as dad came up and wrapped his arms around her and settled a kiss on her cheek. My mom, dad and I always had a good relationship I loved them dearly. My mom's name is Nora Johnson and she's still gorgeous for her age. She is 52 and on the tall side. She has kinda long but short brown auburn hair with brown eyes to match it. My dad, on the other hand, is still as handsome as ever. But you get the point.
Watching my mom and dad together every day made me envy to have something like what they had. I wanted a family of my own, a husband to come home to from long shifts, hearing little feet paddle against the hardwood floor, hearing the word mommy spoken for attention.
"Honey?" Someone spoke tearing me out of my thoughts. I looked up to my dad I smiled softly and spoke. "Yeah, I slept great," I said "Just getting ready for job searching. It's time I start being an adult and stop living with my parents. Don't get me wrong I love you both and I love-"
"Sweetie I know, you don't have to explain yourself. We get it but who's taking you?" Dad interrupted me.
"Katie said she'll drive me around to try to help. She knows a few places that are hiring."
"What about that new restaurant in town? Aren't they hiring hon? Dad asked mom.
"Maybe."
"I'll check it out."
"When is Katine picking you up," mom asked me as I shrugged my shoulders "I don't know I texted her about thirty minutes ago. She should be here by now."
Me: Hey are you almost here.
Katie: Yeah just pulled up.
Me: KK
"I'll see yall later she just pulled up," I say as I walk to my mom and embrace her into a warm hug as well as my dad.
"Love you honey," I hear them yell as I shut the door behind me and walk up to my best friends car.
"You ready?" Katie says as she backs out of the driveway.
"Yeah," I reply to her as I turn the radio up to Personal by Harvey.
"I don't know why'd you do this to me
You're so cold
You'd be playing like
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
I got told danger follows everywhere you go
But I still be like
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeahThis the part where I'm gonna get hurt
I never listened but I didn't deserve it
I was young and she was my first love
So they say that you live and you learnLike yeah she gon' mess with your head
Oh yeah and she'll flirt with your friends oh yeah
Make you wish you were dead
Every time she moves on she says
Don't take it personal
(Don't take it personal)
Every time she moves on she saysWho else knows
All my friends are blowing up my phone
Something's telling me
No no no no no no no no noThis the part where I'm gonna get hurt
I never listened but I didn't deserve it
I was young and she was my first love
So they say that you live and you learnLike yeah she gon' mess with your head
Oh yeah and she'll flirt with your friends oh yeah
Make you wish you were dead
Every time she moves on she says
Don't take it personal
(Don't take it personal)
Every time she moves on she says-"We take turns singing until she stops the radio to ask me a question."So what are all the places you want to stop by?"
"We can try that new place downtown oh what's it called?" I asked puzzled. I'm never good with names especially places.
"The only place I know that is new in town is Club A Steakhouse?" she suggested
"Yeah, that place!"
As we arrive at the place I noticed it was packed and it was one of the weekdays so probably not a good idea to start off here but anything as of right now is good as long as I am bringing in an income. I shut the car door and walk up to the doors but was rudely pushed into someone and spilled their, from what I can smell, coffee all over my white dress!
"Hey, you owe me a dress Mr." I snap back to the stranger who I was just pushed into the mysterious man. I step back to get a good look at the man who stood before me. Oh my, he was handsome alright. He was dressed in a blue Ralph Lauren suit that made him even more charming. His face was plastered with a smirk and a glare. Well oops, I made the Greek god mad.
"Hello? Are you gonna talk or are just gonna give me the death glare?" I questioned him.
He just huffed and left.
"How rude!" I yell at him as he walked off completely ignoring me.
"Ugg my dress! Now what am going to do?" I huffed out angrily
"How about we just go home for now we can come back to the city later I don't really think you wanted to work there anyway," Katie said
I nodded in agreement and we both headed home for the day.
Later that day, at home I ate supper and headed to bed I'm exhausted. I really didn't want mom seeing the dress she had bought me a while ago she would have been terrified that its ruined and would have felt even more upset knowing she couldn't afford another one.
Maybe tomorrow will be better. Maybe tomorrow my luck won't run out by having a hot head, no pun attended, ruin my dress and refuses to act like a normal human being. I climb into bed and turn off the lamp beside my bed leaving me in total darkness and soon I fall into a deep slumber.
Hey guys sorry for it being late I had issues occur but I did promise yall an update with a bonus of 1378 words! That's a lot of words though I was only planning to do about 500 words but it seemed such a small chapter and I wanted to make it longer. So here you go my loves enjoy.
