Evelyn's POV
It was late the night IT happened, almost midnight. I know cliche right? You are probably wondering what a young girl is doing walking home at a time like that. Well the answer to that is quite simple really. I was getting out of my late night physics class. My parents hate when I walk home at night, but my car was in the shop. Unlike my parents, I was not worried that someone would try anything. It was a very well respected neighborhood, and I could take care of myself if something did happen, or so I thought I could. I had taken self defense classes since I was 6 and have a black belt in 3 different martial art forms.
It was late, like I said, and it was unusually dark. There was no stars and it was a new moon. The streetlights were off as well, but I didn't think too much about that because there was a storm earlier in the day so I just figured that the storm messed with the electricity. Boy was I wrong; no wrong is the biggest understatement that I have ever heard. Something had messed with the electricity, but it wasn't the storm.
The wind picked up, so I pulled my black hoddie with my school's mascot, the tigers, on and pulled the hood up. I continued walking down the sidewalk when I heard footsteps behind me. My first thought was not 'oh hey there is someone walking behind you at midnight be careful it could be dangerous' no it was along the lines of 'oh hey who in their right mind would be walking at midnight.' I know, I know I was walking at midnight too, no one said my thoughts were logical. I was passing an ally, again so cliche, when I heard it. It was like a cat hissing, but add a little, or more like a lot, more malice. I turned around to look behind me, but no one was there, and I could have sworn that someone was walking behind me. As I was turning back around, I felt a hand go around my waist, then another go over my mouth and pulled me into the dark ally.
My attacker pushed me up against the wall of some random building holding me there by my shoulders. Therefore, I did what any normal karate black belt would have done. I brought my hands up and hit them against the crook of my attacker's elbow so he would loose his grip on my shoulders, and then I did a roundhouse to kick him in the face. While he was stunned from my actions I took the time to see who it was, I know stupid move. My attacker had dark brown hair, with brown cold eyes. You could see his bulging muscles through his very loose shirt. He looked like the average body builder, that is until he did a flip-up and faced me. We started to face each other, so I did not notice the other person that came up behind me. The last thing I remembered was right as the bodybuilder and myself were going to start fighting, I felt a sting in my neck, kind of like a wasp sting, and I was swallowed up by blackness.
