Part 1

"Checkmate, Mochizuki."

Her stance was confident, but truth be told, she was shaking. The sight of the many police, dead and lifeless and the blood that kissed her skin didn't help. If only she decided not to chase after the hitman, then the deaths of the officers wouldn't be in vain. Though here she is now, standing protectively in front of the boy, somehow knowing it's useless. The thought of the grim reaper were staring at her.

Then the backups, when will they come? Will they ever come?

Does she possibly regret her decision?

The air brought a cold contrast to the fierce and hot fire. It spread, slowly creeping around her and the boy. Her white hair was played around by the breeze as the red flames risen. Slowly, the reaper was getting closer.

The fire brought a great disadvantage. The smoke made it hard to breath and sting to the eyes. Even so, she brought up her revolver with a brave face and a wry smile.

"Let's end this here, shall we?"

Right after that statement, the sniper pulled the trigger.

She didn't.

She instead took Ren's bag in a split second, then pushed him to the water. She made sure to have her revolver equipped and his bag lifted before throwing herself to the water.

The splashing sound of water was heard, as their body felt light and moved through the waves of the water due to their sudden disruption of the silent waves.

She swum up to the surface, taking a quick breath. She scooped up the unconscious Ren around her arm, supporting his body and keeping him safe. She at a fast pace took the cat out of his bag which the cat gasped with a 'meow' and placed him on top of his head.

She lifted her other equipped arm and aimed for the sniper. The moment she saw the silhouette, she considered it as 'green'. She closed her left eye, and pulled the trigger.

The silent air was disrupted as the sound of bullet ricochet through. The shadow she relied on that proved his presence then collapsed after receiving a 'bullet hail' from the girl.

Part 2

A level of satisfaction waved through. She dropped her arm and sighed in reassurance. However, she was now dead worried about the boy on her arm, who was from his heart saved her.

With her last strength, she did her best to swim to the grassy ground. The cat meowed and she knew he was worried too.

Finally, reaching to steady ground, she dropped her body with the other teen beside her. Exhausted and drenched, she stared at the sky.

The sky seemed beautiful, peaceful and Kyoko let herself be lost at it. She closed her eyes, her imagination playing. If only they were not soaked in water. . . If only he was conscious if only the girl wasn't tired. They would definitely look like a couple watching the stars.

The girl sat up and placed the heel of her palm on his chest, then interlinked her fingers over the back of her hand. She started pumping with average strength.

"Please, please..." She repeated those words as if it was her last resort.

Few drops of water fountained from Ren's mouth, much to the girl's delight, then proceeded to perform CPR on him.

About her 30th pumping, she removed her fingers from his chest, then leaned her face near to the boy's. She then used her right hand to pinch the nose of the boy closed, and her left hand to his chin and slowly opened his mouth.
