"His legs aren't getting any better, my lord. I'm afraid that when he is crowned king, he won't be able to walk anymore." The doctor reported, bowing in front of the kings throne.

He sighed, massaging his temples with his fingers, stressfully. "How long will that be, Alfred?"

"Three to four years, my lord."

The king growled, slamming his fist on the arm of his throne. Alfred flinched and squeezed his shut, keeping himself at a kneel in front the steps. "Do know what kind of disease this is?"

Alfred stood, fingers intertwined with each other. "No, sire. He was born with this . . . disability."

The prince watched from the spiraling stairs, hidden behind a column. He knew he shouldn't be out of bed, stressing out his legs, but he was rather curious to what the doctor was reporting to his father.

"Will most likely won't be fit to be king. You might—" Alfred was cut off when the king stood up, red cloak following behind him, swaying at his feet.

"Don't speak about my son that way! I won't hesitate to fire you!" The king pointed a ringed finger at the doctor, shaming him.

Before the conversation went any further, Will felt a pair of hands on his shoulders. They twisted him around, and his servant, Henry, put a finger to his lips.

Then he dragged the prince upstairs to his room, and made him sit on the bed.

"You could've been found, Will." Henry glanced at his legs, seeing the black braces that helped him walk better. "Plus, one day you'll make your legs worse by walking up and down those stairs."

Will pouted, crossing his arms. He stared out his window as Henry continued to lecture him. There were knights training in the field, dueling with swords, clashing against each other. Once of them won, the victor slid off his helmet and tossed it to the ground, helping his combatant back up.

Will know who the victor was: his name was Jonah, a brilliant knight and a loyal guard. His hair was a dark chestnut, and his eyes were so blue, they were almost silver. Half his face was always covered from his mouth down, so Will could never witness the mans true beauty.

The other was a stout and heavily muscled, the perfect person to be trained as a knight. You expect someone like him to already be official, but Jonah was was still training the younger man.

"Hello~? Is Will in there?" Henry was snapping his fingers in front of Wills face, bringing back to reality. He swatted the hand away from him and looked opposite from the window, at the door. Then he turned to Henry. "Wow. I've never seen you that zoned out before. Are you alright?"

Henry glanced outside the window, finding Jonah and his trainee in the field. "Oh~. I see. Someone has eyes for the Captain."

Will blushed and shook his head. "No! It's nothing like that!"

"Mhmm, right." Henry chuckled. "Get into bed. It's getting late."

As Will rested, he didn't notice who Jonah glanced up at his window, curiously watching for a chance to him again.

Authors Note

Sorry for the short chapter, but I thought that only a little bit should be here. Next chapter will hopefully be long, if not then it will at least be a bit more than this.
