Being placed in Slytherin had shocked many of the Hogwarts students, stares were automatically being focused on Harry and he would shield himself behind Draco's figure and cloak. He admired the emerald and silver of my houses' coat of arms and would constantly wear his scarf for no other reason than to admire the colors. The green was nearly the exact same shade as Harry's eyes.

Classes soon began to start, and fit years were escorted to them by their Slytherin Prefect.

--Transfiguration--

McGonagall held the Slytherins in resentment, although hardly playing favorites with the Gryffindors. Harry disliked this asset to her, although he wouldn't have minded her being his head of house rather than Snape.

She tried simply teaching them how to turn water into rum and although Draco and Harry did succeed in turning it into a rather disgusting yellow liquid that you would see when you went to the toilet, she was disappointed and made a quiet statement that Hermione Granger in Ravenclaw managed to do it easily and perfectly.

Draco seemed to despise Miss Granger and he soon learnt why. She was a mudblood. Harry thought she was okay, so he disagreed with Draco though fortunately, he didn't seem to mind much.

After a few more hopeless attempts, they were set free and sent to Charms.

--Charms--

Professor Flitwick was a small old man who seemed to admire the work of Charms. He stood on a pile of books and began to read the register. He stood composed as he read the names until he reached Harry's. He fell onto the floor with a thud, Draco and a few others laughed, however, one boy with sandy hair in Gryffindor went to the front and helped him. He continued to read, and he discovered Ron Weasley was also in this class. Harry immediately saw his fiery red hair.

He handed out feathers then showed the first years their first spell 'Wingardium Leviosa'. The sandy-haired boy caused his feather to explode, leaving a dark trail of ashes on his face, in his hair and on the desk.

"Look at him, hopeless. You should be glad you were smart enough to befriend me, Harry," he said in a mocking voice, which Harry didn't particularly like.

"Oh Draco, sure you could be a bit kinder. All this nonsense you say your fathers taught you clearly hasn't paid off." Harry said, and ignored him, continuing to work with the feather.

--End of Class--

Charms Class soon finished, Draco trying to apologize and befriend Harry again. He soon gave in, and they spent their free time sitting on the edge of the Great Lake, skipping stones. Ron's brothers charged around, throwing spells at each other although they were forbidden. Draco and Harry found this amusing and watched them.

Ron Weasley had approached us.

"Oh, the blood traitor," Draco snarled and turned away.

Harry rolled my eyes. "Ignore him, Ron. How nice it is to see you!" he smiled.

"You know him?" Draco asked, surprised.

"Why, of course! I'm sure you two would get along!" Harry said, hopefully.

Ron's mouth was filled with chocolate frogs. "Hello Harry, Draco," he said, swallowing the chocolate he was chewing. "How are you?"

"Fine thanks, Ron," Harry responded.

He handed him a stone and Ron, Draco and Harry resumed throwing stones. A short while after, a bell rang and McGonagall entered the courtyard, "May the Slytherin and Gryffindor first year's head to Potions Class," she demanded in a loud, intimidating voice.
