How can I love?

Chapter Five

I opened my eyes letting them adjust to the light before I sat up, I ran my fingers through my rough messy hair before blinking and looking around.

'I'd been sleeping eh' I thought, 'weird dream'I continued before twisting my body over, moving my legs over to the ground I stood up. it was a large stone room with paper covering the walls, a long desk, and a bed.

I sighed before walking over to the desc, a fresh pair of clothes lay on a grey tray. grabbing them I start getting undressed.

after finishing I look over to the mirror that hung on the wall. I was wearing a dark navy blue singlet, long black shorts, black and blue sneakers and a golden badge in the form of a serpent resting on the left side of my chest.

grabbing my bag I step over to the door, I'd grab the door lever pulling it up pushing the door back.

I step out the deafening sound of the crowd ringing in my ears. it took a few heart beats till I got used to it closing the door and stepping into the crowd. 

it was a long hallway still stone with a large crowd of 'people' squeezing together. there were rows of doors on each side some closed others with people stepping out. I just blended in with them all though.

walking down the crowd bumping in with everyone near me we all split apart at the end. it was a massive room with tons of people from every ward. our ward was the serpents and the other three were felines, dragons and foxes.

we were to meet here for the commanders and queen to disuse about the holy war. it'd been happening for centuries now and both sides were getting tired of it.

there was a huge stage that we all flocked around, there stepped out the queen and the others.

she was a tall woman, black hair, very attractive, very curvy, black eyes and she was very kind behind her sinister past. ''good morning everyone I hope everyone slept fine'' she spoke into the microphone. 

she continued putting her hands behind her back ''we have reason to suspect a ambush at noon when the collectors go'' she sighed. ''I would like to assign a guard to each collector, alright come out we'll start'' she said as the collectors came on stage. 

they were all females each wearing white roman like robes, there hands were claws though and they had big goat horns that rested next to there faces.

the queen continued saying names, I wasn't really listening until my name was called. I snapped back into concentration before starting to walk forward.

stepping on stage with the others we each picked one to 'protect'. I waited last after every guard had picked, course I had to have most unattractive one. we teleported to the forest soon after.

we all started walking in different directions, we heard laughing and started to slowen. kneeling down we looked over, it was a group of teenagers camping each laughing and chatting loudly. there were about six.

''them?'' I whispered to her, she looked over to me before nodding. I checked the surroundings making sure there was no unknown magic reminiscence anywhere before we began.

her 'fingers' moved before she got in a running position, she sprinted forward much faster then any human. she'd of killed them in a few heartbeats before straightening up.

I stepped up walking over lifting my hand as it started to glow, the humans started to glow hovering off the ground.

I grabbed some rope and started tying them up around there waists as they started to float higher above my head. 

we started walking back to the place we'd come from.
