"Y/N.. Please. You're our last hope." Hye Lin pleaded.
"It's not that I don't want to, Hye Lin-ah. It's just because I have this business trip in 2 weeks. And you know that we've been trying to sign that fucking contract with Parks for 3 months now. And now that they've agreed to meet us I just can't blow this one up. Min Suk and I couldn't take any more risks." I explained trying to sound less frustrated in front of my best friend.
"But you promised you'd sing when I get married," she said pouting. "Plus, I heard that that 'Park' was invited to my wedding too since Ji Hoon is friends with him. I'm just not sure if he'll show up or something." she shrugged still trying to convince me.
"What? See, you're not even sure of it." I removed my gaze from the project proposal I was reading and faced her.
"Ugh! Of course he'll come! My instincts tell me." she whined. "I can't believe that my best friend's ditching me with work." she said pouting again.
Ugh how the heck am I supposed to say 'no' to her now? She's been pouting like that for 30 minutes now.
I sighed and scrunched my nose in defeat. "What time's the wedding again?" slightly smiling.
My best friend squealed and starting to run towards me causing me to laugh a little. "The wedding's at 7 pm. But we're heading to the reception at 8:30 pm. You can just go straight from your meeting to the reception. I won't mind as long as you sing 2 songs. Don't worry about the pianist though. He's a self-proclaimed genius!" she exclaimed. "And, you know him too well and you guys go way back." she dragged the word 'way' while rolling her eyes. "You can call him, tell the songs you will be singing and practice with him or whatever. He knows that you'll be contacting him soon so you don't to worry that much. Here's his card." She said.
She handed me a light blue business card and kissed me on the cheeks and before I could bid her goodbye, she was already out of the door.
I stared at the card on my hand biting my lips. It says Min Yoon Gi. Executive Director. Oh no.
I picked up my phone and dialed the number. After two rings, he answered. His voice is low and smooth as silk as he sent a tingling sensation all throughout my body. Shit.
"Hello? Y/N?" his voice echoed through the other line. I smiled. What a small world. I told myself.
"Hey there Yoongs! It's been a while." I said sighed.
I heard a light chuckle from him. "I guess you're the wedding singer then." I can imagine him flashing his gummy smile while scratching the back of his neck.
I clickedmy tongue and breathed out, "Yeah, Iguess. So you're the 'self-proclaimed genius' huh?"
