Song: knowing you, knowing me by ABBA

The fight

Miles POV
This fight wasn't meant to mean anything. Just us bickering like old men. A playful argument, it kept us sharp in the court room. We were use to these kind of fights. This one started as most do, I voice displeasure about something. This time it was Phoenix's ability to trust every person he meets. Not that his trust was necessarily a bad thing, I actually admire that part of him. It makes him the Phoenix that I love. The reason I brought it up was because I was concerned. I was honestly scared he would trust who would hurt him or worse. I had good intentions, but I'm still not good at voicing my mind. This fight that wasn't meant to mean anything yet soon, too soon, meant the end of everything.

We were sitting in my office for this fight. Both of had stop arguing about the original topic and were just throwing insults. The beginning of the end started with a sentence. "God, your so stupid, how did you even pass the bar!" Miles spat. Regret consumed me. That wasn't true, Phoenix wasn't even remotely dumb, but just slipped out. I glared out the window, unable to drag my eyes to meet his. I could feel his eyes staring at me.

After a few minutes of torturing silence Phoenix spoke. His voice shook, he was trying to not cry. "I sorry I'm not good enough for the demon prosecutor," those words were practically whispers. I heard every word. My head whipped around, my eyes locked with his eyes, both of us glaring at the other. "I am not that anymore," I hiss out. I know I should stop, but he knew just the button to push. "Well, you are certainly acting like him!" He yells. "How dare you?!?" I'm enraged. We stand silent for a few minutes. The is broken by Phoenix, he sighs "I'm done."

He turns away and walks to the door. I turn towards the window, I can't look as the man I love walks out the door. I hear the door open and a pause then the door is closed. I sink in to my desk chair tears threatening to fall. This was the end.
