It took a lot of convincing before Shawn agreed to leave me by myself. I needed the time of reflection... time to think about the accumulation of events that had occurred. When I was with Shawn, I couldn't think clearly, but I didn't understand why.
After that night, we had went our separate ways, and learned to live without the support of each other. Only now... now it seemed like everything had changed.
I'd forgotten what it felt like to be with Shawn. But after the death of my mom, I suppose I'd forgotten what it felt like to be cared for, period.
Shawn and I had that connection. He hadn't changed. I hadn't changed. The circumstances had.
My heart was asking me if I still loved him. I don't know, but I do know that there's something about him that I just can't let go.
