"Hey! Hey Tanner," Maize called trying to push between to varsity football players, "Um? Excuse me!" The two juniors glanced back, looking down at her. Maize was 5"2', weighed 112 pounds, and had long wavy hair. "Well hey there cutie," The bigger one of the two said looking her up and down. Maize couldn't help but blush. She had seen them around, mostly at lunch and at their games. The bigger one, Knute, had a crew cut. He had to stand at least 6"4'. Lyle on the other hand was a few inches smaller but defiantly had a bigger muscle mass. "Ah, th-thanks," Maize saw Tanner walk into the computer lab. He was always over protective of her. That had always baffled her mostly because Tanner was the "It Boy" in the sophomore class. Every girl had at one time or another wished they could say that he was theirs. Maize was well corkier, defiantly not the girl guys like Tanner dated or even talked to. She loved to be involved in band. Maize could play at least four instruments not counting her dabbling in singing. For some odd reason Tanner had chosen her over every other girl in Green County Prep at the being of freshman year.

Ã"Hey babe," Tanner wrapped his arms around her. Tanner had spun around in a circle pining her between him and the wall. He had always been good at placing her between him and another object so she couldn't blow off whatever he had to say.

"What the fuck were you doing? Do you think I'm an idiot? Did you think I wouldn"t see you flirting with them right in front of me?" Tanner towered over Maize standing 5"9'.

"I-I-I wasn't flirting with them, I swear. They were just passing by, p -please don't be mad," she said rather softly and turns her head away. He rolled his eyes and a louder said, "You're a whore, that's what you are."

Tears rolled down her rosy checks, "P-please," she stammered. Maize had had a stutter for as long as she could remember, "P-please don't say that." Tanner looked straight into her face, for a quick moment she glance at his eyes seeing hate and disgrace from underneath his black hair.

He slowly spat out "Shut up. You don't fucking deserve me!"Tanner knocked Maize's books to the floor and threw her up against the wall. Her heart started beating louder and faster. Tanner gripped his hand onto her throat squeezing tight, lifting her several inches off the floor. Tanner had small locks of Maize's honey nut hair twined in his fist. He smirked, "Huh, do you know how easy it would be for me to kill you...right...now?" Maize started to cry harder trying to catch her breath. She clawed and pulled at his hands making him angrier. Just then the bell rang, Tanner dropping her to the floor as the class room filled with students. Maize fell onto her hands and knees, gasping for air. "I'll see you at lunch May," he said picking her up and kissing her forehead.

"Tanner hadn't always been this way. When we first started dating he was AMAZING! He bought me teddy bear when i was having a really bad week. It was soft a fluffy, and the bear wore a bow tie. After dating for 8 months he still was able to suprize me. I had to have a root canal. I was in pain for 2 weeks afterwards and he brought over 2 balloons that said "Get Well, and You're So Special". He was the best boyfriend ever, and of course he still is. I mean he has been acting this way for about 3 months now. It started with just name calling which wasn't that bad, I have an older brother who always picked on me. So hey i was use to it. Then he got more aggressive. Tanner and I would be tickling each other or something like that. Then he something would annoy him and  he would punch my arm or push me away. But lately he has been way more hurtful than simple pushing. But it's not his fault, you see his parents are getting a divorce, and he has been under alot of stress. I mean who wouldn't be. RIght?" Maize wrote in her journal.

"Hey Maize, what was with Tanner this morning he looked pissed! "Nicole said as she blew her bangs out of her face. Nicole had been Maize's best since the 3rd grade when she moved her from New York City. Nicole had maple red hair, and weighed 105 pounds. Which was five pounds to light to her standards.
