I'm feeling confident and extremely happy. Something I haven't felt in a while. I'm free. "This will be my year" I say to myself whilst staring at myself in the mirror in the toilet. I finish touching up my lipstick and add a bit more volume to my hair which has lost some of its curls due to me dancing the night away. It's officially 2018. The year I turn 19 woah that means I'm 20 next year. Ha. The toilet door opens which startles me of course. " Tessa, come on the party is still going". I turn to Kayla, she seems slightly annoyed that I've left her alone with Tristan who is moderately drunk and Kai for the past 5 minutes. "Okay little girl I'm coming".
The party is still going, the atmosphere is amazing. Everyone is so excited for what this year will bring. I'm surrounded by some of my favourite people, what an amazing start. However I am fully aware that the house this party is being held at is right next to the clout house. And the majority of its members are in fact here.
I have no problem with any of them. Rice has hurt my feelings a bit I guess but I could never hate anyone especially without meeting them first. Especially as I know that the front people put on camera isn't normally their true self.
I would like nothing more than to rekindle my friendship with Alissa. She was basically a sister to me. Everything that happened last year was taken way to out of proportion, and I had no control over it.I put those thoughts to the back of my head and continue to socialise and dance, two of my bests talents. I can tell that the night is coming to the end for me and the roommates. As much as we would love to stay to the early hours of the morning. Our jobs are basically non stop.
"McDonald's on route home?" Tristan asks whilst we walk out of the house, "Tristan is that even a question?" Kayla asks in response to Tristan's best sentence of the year. "Wait shall we do drive-thu or postmates it when we get home?", "Kai I don't know about you but i need this McDonald's as a matter of urgency" Tristan replied. "You guys go ahead and wait for the Uber I just need to sort out my heel".
I sit myself on the small garden wall outside the house and adjust the strap on my heel.
"Tessa Brooks, a face I didn't expect to see tonight", I turn to see the face that matches the most recognisable voice.
