>>ASHYLYN'S POV<<
I sighed and rolled my eyes at his grumpy mood, although I did just wake him up in the middle of the night, trying to leave without letting him know.
"Aren't you the one saying that you can't risk getting caught?" he hissed. Clearly he wasn't happy with being woken up early. But, hey, he needs his beauty sleep.
"I was just getting some fresh air," I muttered, crossing my arms over my chest. "Jesus."
"Don't bullshit me, Pete. You threatened the receptionist for Christ's sake," he sighed, exasperated. "What the hell are you hiding?"
I whirled to my side to face him, raising my eyebrow, offended. "What makes you think I'm hiding something, huh?!" My voice raised slightly in both pitch and volume. Whenever I'm slightly angry, my voice leaks through the cracks, which was slightly worrying.
He narrowed his eyes at me, my expression stony. "You act really strange, you know that?" he retorted, the elevator dinging as the doors opened.
He stepped out, and I followed behind him, grumbling. "I'm being chased by a pretty nasty son of a bitch, remember?" I replied, clenching my jaw.
When he opened the apartment door, I slammed it shut behind me as we walked in.
"Tell me the damn truth, Pete, did you kill somebody or something? Is that why you're so 'on edge?'" he said harshly, using quotations, turning around and facing me as he crossed his arms.
My face distorted into an expression of shock. "No!" I spluttered, throwing my hands into the air. When he merely raised an eyebrow, I scoffed. "Really?! I told you the entire truth! God! You're so fucking frustrating, you know that? I don't understand why I even agreed to live with an asshole like you," I continued, lying.
He widened his eyes before narrowing them and turning around to go back to his bedroom. "Just go to sleep."
"Grumpy son of a bitch," I muttered.
He slammed his bedroom door shut as I flipped him the finger in the direction of his room.
I huffed slightly as I trudged to the guest room, slamming the door like him. I went straight to the window, opening it and breathing in the night air.
I shook the hoodie off, revealing my tattoos and took off my hat, tossing it onto the desk. Jordan's not coming in here any time soon. I thought reassuringy.
I leaned out the window, admiring the starry sky. The wind blew my long hair to the left, and I savored the refreshing feeling. My eyes traveled over to the part of the building perpendicular to where I was, and saw the same man from a few hours ago leaning out the window as well.
He waved once again, and instead of ducking back inside like before, I smiled and waved back.

I naturally woke up at 6:00, immediately climbing out of bed and throwing on the hat and hoodie before exiting the room silently.
I sighed, feeling slightly guilty once again. Jordan's just trying to be nice, and all I'm doing is being a jerk and lying straight to his face. I thought.
I walked into the kitchen, maybe I could make breakfast. I hadn't had a proper breakfast in a year, but that didn't mean I didn't pick up some skills from my mom.
I smiled as I walked into the kitchen, though I frowned when I opened it, finding only a carton of milk and half a dozen cartons of orange juice.
"What the hell," I muttered, right before I shut the door and Jordan's bedroom door opened loudly in the distance.
