Ricky had always had it hard.

Having a alcoholic father and a drug addicted mother was never easy or safe.

Since his parents couldn't support themselves or him, he has been dealing drugs since he was 8. They died when he was 14, and Ricky ran and became homeless instead of being in the system. He started living in a abandoned warehouses.

Ricky has only his girlfriend, Hannah and his best friend, Jaamal, in his life who basically stand as a support system, without them Ricky doesn't know what would've happened to him.

When Ricky was 16, him and Jaamal were spotted dealing by the police, and that is when Ricky's life started to fall apart.

On that dreadful day, Jamaal Lewis was pronounded dead at 7:04 pm from a gunshot wound to the back. He was shot, while running,by a police officer. Even if he has survived, he would have never walked again. 

After Jamaal passed, Ricky was caught two months later, and was sentenced to two years in juvie. Hannah and her parents moved to Crestmont, after the loss of her friends.

Ricky was released from juvie and moved to Crestmont. To be with Hannah. Also, running from his past. 

On a different note, Ricky has a brother. A identical twin brother, named Montgomery, who was given up for adoption at birth. His parents only being able to handle one baby,not two. The only thing telling them apart is Ricky's owl tattoo on the left side of his neck and a calligraphy tattoo of Hannah's name on his forearm.

Ricky found out about his brother when he was 11. He had always wanted to find Monty, but he couldn't and partially didn't want to because of the life he was living.

Meanwhile, his brother was adopted soon after being put up, gaining the name Montgomery de la Cruz. All the while, having no idea who he actually was. or is.
