I could see that the doors of the shop were locked.
through the sleet arid grey of the fallen winter snow.
From then on. our shoulders touched closely as we walked.
..
It seemed, before I spoke, that you appeared to know,
There was never another similar heart,
and in my frozen breath, I told you so.
..
We hurried through the city streets closely to dark,
We laughed in nervousness beyond the bell towers chime,
And even then, we knew that every perfect ending had a cold start.
..
And on this winter night was yours and mine,
The dimly lit streets absorbed our words to fallen moods,
and brightened our world up to a shine.
..
We stopped in our reflection to imbue,
four words for a happy ending to unfold,
In a time and season where happiness to most of us, eludes.
..
And real fairy tale endings, truth be told,
are often lost in the bleak winter gaze.
The love of our special day lifted the weight of the ice and cold.
..
Winter is where our peace was found through the shortened days,
Where new life remained silent by the fire, in a bright, comforting blaze.
